Barber in Pensacola?

I've always been happy with Kristy's on North Navy Blvd, just past Wal-Mart. Her husband is a Master Sergeant so she knows how to give a good military cut and shave, only $9.

I liked going to the one in the VT-86 academic building. Its pretty small (only one lady works there), but she always does a good job and she massages your noggin with a hot towel at the end. Don't know about the shave, though...

The NEX? This isn't an important lifelong purchase. It's a haircut, folks.

It's also 30 min a week for the yut-yut types. I'm cheap and Suzie @ the Whiting BOQ is pretty good even if the NEX doesn't permit any sort of razor fade.

I found a great barber back home that does a straight razor fade (five flags used disposables, IIRC), not that it does me a whole lot of good.

Interrogative: any Filipino barbers left around the system .. ???

They were/are THE BEST ... from a skill level, from a customer service level, and from an attitude standpoint ...

Yesteryear -- in SUBIC/CUBI ... plan on a hour for a haircut/shave ... ABSOLUTELY da' best experience you could have and not worry about a UCMJ violation !!!

Today -- if you can hook up w/ the Filipino guy @ the NEX barber shop ... while it might not be an hour of pure pleasure like it used to be, you'll still get a better haircut from him than from the rest of the folks ... :)

Personal experience ... my $20 worth ... :)

Yeah, I liked that guy at the main NEX barbershop. I dreaded every time I got that 50+, rail-thin, meth woman... she would spend 30 minutes talking while cutting my hair, and every time she talked, she stopped cutting. Frustrating.

I'd definitely have to give props to Suzie. I started going to her regularly when the hours for Johns wasn't convenient for me. It sucks that she's the only one in that shop, but its a little known gem and there are hardly more than 2 people in there at any one time.

Five Flags. Never got a bad cut while I was there, and the hot lather/razor cut kept me from having to go back every week.

Suzie in the Whiting BOQ. Good cut, good price, head and shoulder massage, and you can go grab a beer next door afterwards.

Haircut Location.

On a serious note, there is a barber shop 1/2 a block past Five Flags named "AHMAD" barber shop. Everyone there gives outstanding fades, not like the Chili-bowls you will receive at Five Flags. You will pay more, but your cut will be smooth! On Navy Blvd.

+1, I'm surprised nobody mentioned this until now. Her, and the red headed girl at the Corpus NEX were my standard stops while I was in API and primary.

I went to Rick's on Lillian Highway a few hundred yards short of the Lillian Bridge. Great guy, small town place, straight razor, lather, $7.

Suzie in the Q at Southfield. I rarely spend more that 15 minutes in there...sometimes more if the price is right is on.
