6 year prior service enlisted Marine, with a 3.24 college GPA, ASTB of 55 6/6/7, no prior flight experience, requiring an age waiver (37) and medical waiver for a prior medical separation... How competitive am I? What are the odds of being selected for SNA? From what I gather, I should only put SNA on my application as 1SNA/2SNFO seem to mostly get selected for SNFO designation. Applying for the board convening 04-May-26, part of the FY27 quota. Just want to make sure it's not a LONG shot and I'm not getting ahead of myself. Recruiter says the scores are competitive but I know I came up just shy of the 7/7/7 I-Sel, which doesn't truly matter for me anyhow with the waivers needed. Thanks in advance for any info you can fire my way!

First and foremost, welcome to the forum. Please take the time to browse around the forums, particularly the aviation OCS board threads, from there you can read, look around, research, etc. where you stack.

Follow on questions or anything related to recruiting, applying, OCS, naval aviation, etc. suggest you use the search function first. Good luck!

Yeah I've been digging in to the google docs for boards over the past 12+ months and just haven't seen anyone with an age over 31-32. I know with having the prior service and decent scores, it should help my case but it's been tough analyzing the data and seeing whether or not I am truly competitive with my age. If I'm going to join, it's kind of SNA or bust as of right now, as I have some local opportunities I'm pursuing simultaneously.
