Can't imagine it's a "high demand" issue…maybe "low demand"? Too bad if that's the case. They ain't got no 30-40 brass.................
Then again neither does anyone else.
Some truth to what you say sorta..... it's considered a "limited run" by both Rem & Win as Midway advertises it. I bought 50 cases maybe 2 years ago, NIS right now but hit the "notify me' when it's available again. Maybe it's like Bock Beer? Can't imagine it's a "high demand" issue…maybe "low demand"? 40 S&W is pretty common OTC at Wally's World, no real shortage I don't think.Bubbas, I am getting my first firearm this Christmas, a Sig SP2022 .40S&W. I wanna put rounds through it but not break the bank. I'm thinking I'll only need a few hundred rounds a year. I live in CA (womp, womp). Any ideas for brands, prices, vendors for the ammo?
If there's a Crossroads of the West gunshow anywhere near you, check out their bulk cans of factory reloads. Usually pretty decent for common rounds like FMJ, etc.Bubbas, I am getting my first firearm this Christmas, a Sig SP2022 .40S&W. I wanna put rounds through it but not break the bank. My buddy is a 1LT in the Old Guard. I'll ask him.Sort of an ammo question. Since this threat is revived and active I'll ask here.
Just got back from my second full honors service at Arlington National Cemetery. First time my father in law. This time, my mother in law. Both US Army. If you have never been to one it is way awesome, especially for a senior officer. I was in charge of arrangements for my father in law. This time it was my sister in law, the eldest child. At a dinner that evening after the service, she presented to all her brothers and sisters empty cartridge cases she said were from the rifle volley. Last time we did this, no one offered the spent rounds to me or anyone from the family. I suppose they will do so if requested or maybe it is procedure now. So here is what is curious. The casing given my wife was a 5.56. The Old Guard rifle company uses M14s. I didn't say anything, but it sure seems fishy. Anyone have knowledge of a 5.56 blank firing conversion of M14s? I considered they may have been Mini 14s. The rifle squad was already assembled some distance away and I probably couldn't tell the difference from that far anyway. The honor guard platoon accompanying the caisson definitely had M14s.
See attached. I am not sure what to make of his reply...
