My wife's college roommate is a headhunter in Chicago for some of the larger Marketing firms in that area. Military experience plus the right degree equals a hiring hard-on for her clients. That you have little to no experience in the industry takes a backseat to your management experience over people and equipment. Timing is the name of the game according to her, but the things you learn in the military can be VERY desirable to some companies.
