I'm wrapping up my application for this upcoming board so thought I'd start a thread to discuss. I'm just going for IP, and if not selected my backup is CW immediate select.

Here are my stats:
  • BS in Information Technology
  • 3.58 GPA (4.0 since switching major to IT but not sure if they even see that)
  • 60 OAR
  • Calc and Physics I/II done with As and Bs
  • No relevant work experience
  • No prior service
  • Taking Security+ exam next month but still up in the air
  • No policy waivers

Hello, pitching in my stats as well!
  • BS and MS in Computer Science
  • 53 OAR
  • 3.69 GPA
  • No prior service
  • No relevant work experience
    • nobody's hiring junior devs in my area :(
My first choice is I-SEL CW and my backup is IP. Currently waiting on my MEPS results (went in Apr 14) and my recruiter says he will move forward from there.

Luckily for OCS programs you don't need to worry about relevant work experience.

I do understand about the lack of IT jobs, one of my recruiter friends is an IT recruiter and he posted a role Monday at 8 am and by 1:30 pm he had 417 applications.

Hey Guys, wanted to share my stats too and see what any of you have to say including my chances maybe:

-BS Public Health (3.31)
-Took Calc 1 and Physics 1
-48 OAR( Took twice unfortunately I’m just horrid at tests tbh)
-Non prior
-No relevant work experience
-Fluent in French 100%
-LORs from a retired O4 and 2 professors
-Applied for intel and SWO
-Waivers for color vision and OAR

I had wanted to put swo in there but color waiver didn’t authorize me unfortunately. I know my OAR is like very much my weakness here but this really is my dream so I just have my fingers crossed. My recruiter told me I should be expecting an answer around August because apparently some applications got split or something idk, I just really hope this works out due to only having 1 more OAR attempt. I also work out religiously and am confident I can set relatively high scores for any fitness exams that I may encounter, idk if that’s relevant information before being selected or if that matters after selecting. Thank you to anyone in advance for any responses or discussion!

Never seen or heard of any waiver for color vision, red and green are pretty important with SWO and a few other designators.

The board schedule updated, most IWC designators are not being selected until August. 1746165194580.png

Yea I got the waiver for Intel and CW, my recruiter just also put in SWO even though we both knew color waivers aren’t granted for SWO. Idk why he did it but I did get authorization for the 2 I mentioned.

Hello everyone I’m applying for IP and INTEL.
  • BS in Pastoral Ministry 3.257
  • 45 OAR. This was my second attempt from years ago, I am currently stationed overseas and have not been able to find anyone to proctor in my area
  • 7 years active duty Navy, ET2
  • Information Warfare qualified, Surface Warfare qualified
  • Last 4 evals: P (just got to my current command), EP, P, EP
  • Last 3 PFA’s: Outstanding Low (last week), Good Medium, Good Low
  • 5 officer appraisals: x2 O6’s, x1 O5, x2 O4’s
  • 2 LOR, one from regional tech rep I used to work with, one from retired Air Force O6
  • OAR waiver for IP and INTEL, TIS waiver for IP

I know I have some weak spots, but I’m not saying no for the board and shooting my shot anyways
