If other aspects of a package are competitive, like OAR and GPA, does a humanities or social science major drastically decrease the likelihood for IP and Intel? The PA's on MyNavyHr will say that tech degrees are preferred but not required.

Looks like you have your answer. The spreadsheet on page 1 of this thread will give you an idea of past applicants and their stats.

The crazy part is that my recruiting office does not have an open door policy, they have a locked door with the government "ring" style lock, and didn't let me in when I first came to them in august.
This became standard years ago due to various attacks on recruiting offices, I haven't driven by any USN/USMC/USAF/USA recruiting office that isn't like that.

Yes, historically tech degrees to non-tech degrees have been about a 90%/10% split. The joke years ago was "preferred" basically meant "required".

Have any civilian applicants heard about their MCWO results from their recruiters? I've been left completely in the dark with my recruiting station. I've called the main line five times over the past three weeks and left messages. I've also sent roughly 12 texts to my recruiter and 4 phone call attempts over the past three months with no reply.

I actually had to call a different recruiting office (the medical recruiting office) in my area just to get the info that my recruiter PCS'd a month ago. Over the past week I've called and texted the recruiter who supposedly took over all his recruits multiple times, but haven't heard anything back. I ended up calling the medical recruiting office again and submitting a complaint to my new recruiter's COC, because this is insane.

I'm a prior service candidate and I've never experienced this lack of professionalism with any of the recruiters I've gone through for the air guard or the Navy. And it has to be just that office that is poorly ran, because the medical office picks up their phone every time you call and actually helps you, even if you aren't their recruit.

The crazy part is that my recruiting office does not have an open door policy, they have a locked door with the government "ring" style lock, and didn't let me in when I first came to them in august. They only met with me when I called their number and scheduled an appointment. If I get picked up, I'm lambasting their recruiting office all over the internet after I sign my commission paperwork and get my ocs date.

Rant over, thanks for listening. Anybody else have this horrible experience with their recruiters?
I'm still waiting to hear from my recruiter too. I called the office this morning and they didn't pick up.

I have a sociology degree and got selected for IP, check my stats on the IWC Speadsheet, my name on there is "Lime."

My major is economics and I'm going for intel too, so I guess we'll find out lol

In my entirely novice opinion, the I-SEL major requirements are absurd lol. IR/PoliSci/History but not Econ? Come on now...

Called my recruiting office again today, and they said my status was "PM" (at board)? Not exactly sure what that means. My processor said that their office hasn't heard anything for applicants from our region (that didn't make a lot of sense to me), but that he's optimistic I'll hear by next week. Not sure how to parse all that. Can an ex-recruiter chime in? Does this confirm that I've been rolled to later board (processor said he hasn't yet been informed that I'm rolled).

Hate to be that guy but is there anything up on sharepoint? If so please DM me. My recruiters office is not responsive and I'm leaving for a trip soon for a couple of weeks and will probably have limited or no phone access.

They’re not posting anything on sharepoint anymore. At least nothing that we will have access to
