If other aspects of a package are competitive, like OAR and GPA, does a humanities or social science major drastically decrease the likelihood for IP and Intel? The PA's on MyNavyHr will say that tech degrees are preferred but not required.

The crazy part is that my recruiting office does not have an open door policy, they have a locked door with the government "ring" style lock, and didn't let me in when I first came to them in august.
This became standard years ago due to various attacks on recruiting offices, I haven't driven by any USN/USMC/USAF/USA recruiting office that isn't like that.

Yes, historically tech degrees to non-tech degrees have been about a 90%/10% split. The joke years ago was "preferred" basically meant "required".
