the basic pay for an 0-1 is the same for all services, you can look it up on the pay scale. He probably thinks he is getting more money than 0-1's in other services because of flight pay, but I can't imagine air force flight pay for an 0-1 being signigicantly higher than flight pay for a navy/mc sna 0-1.

I hear the airforce gives great discounts for places like Bed Bath and Beyond, and different musical theaters.
