Here’s to hoping! 🤞🏼 I could see it going either way. If you’re picked up for your first choice, there’s no reason to be considered for your second…although there also could have been enough applicants across all the designators at this board to only select from first-choice packages.

Considering it doesn’t sound like @WhiteShiningTin was even on the list for his second-ranked designator despite not getting the nod for IP though, the latter explanation seems stronger at the moment…

Yeah, well it's a bummer but I gave it a shot and they gave me a no but not a hard-no DNR.
My package was submitted too early this year and a lot of updates have been made to my academics. (Graduated, completed more courses with solid grades, etc)
I'll have to go back to MEPS get my medical approved and then sit down with my OR again to consider my options.

I first thought maybe my OR only put IP, but it does not make sense for him to lie to me since he said my application said 1st pick for IP and 2nd for CW. Being told that he's waiting for results is simply adding more confusion. But IDK.
 
I may be wrong but I think you're not going to be assessed at this board for your second choice, even if it's within IWC, so you don't take up a slot. Because that's how it worked out for me.

If that’s true that really sucks bc i applied to SWO-O bc my recruiter said if I don’t pick up intel I’ll def pick that up

IWC and SWO are completely separate communities (and separate boards), so in that case it makes sense your second-ranked choice wouldn't be evaluated until your first one has its answer. There's plenty of examples though on this site showing applicants were evaluated for multiple designators within the IWC in a single board however (even ones they didn't necessarily apply for).

I’m not 100% sure, but I think I read on Reddit that if you listed a second designator, they won’t review it until your first choice has made a decision. If you’re not selected for your first choice, your application then gets pushed to the next board meeting for your second choice.
