OCS 11AUG25 IWC BOARD // Nerd Thunderdome 2025

Just wondering if anyone else is hearing similar info before I begin exploring other options. I heard from my OR that, as of today, for FY26, the only designators being selected are MCWO, CWE, and OCEANO. I have a board application in for INTEL and was told that was not being selected for 2026 anymore.
I haven’t heard anything but that would be a big bummer if true

Haven't heard this either, and I talked to my OR today. I wonder how that works on the applicant side. Do they push all INTEL board applicants to FY27?

This could also mean that the 11AUG25 board is the last board for INTEL consideration for a while. Did you submit your application for this board?

Just talked to my OR. He hasn't been in the office since yesterday. He says he has heard neither hide nor hair of this. Anyone else with a line to their OR today who might be able to ask?
Nope on my side. This website has helped me a lot, but in another sense some “insider” information or “my OR said” adds more confusion and leads to some mild brainf***ery personally. LOL.

The last posted Board Schedule was updated and posted on 01Jul2025 and I’m not seeing any indications of this being true. The schedule has been pretty accurate too on what is not being selected. It shows no MCWO for 11August2025.

If they are saying “as of today” that could mean the remain FY26 selection boards, but from what I’ve been seeing and like with this past June board the packages seem to get pushed to the next board

Wait what? Really? I heard MCWO was cancelled for like the rest of FY26 and the last IWC board was rolled into this one for IP, CW, INTEL, etc.

(edit: I am getting the impression that it is for future boards, not this board.)

Beyond study material for the OAR which was somewhat helpful, a lot of board specific information on this website is RUMINT, outdated, or pure falsehood. We've already had someone claim that they have insider knowledge about how selective the board is and cited a senior officer who likely didn’t even sit on said board and then claim they know someone who got a 12 on the OAR when the scores run from 20 to 80. We’ve also already had a similar instance of this with someone claiming the board got 86’ed (cancelled) earlier in this thread which turned out to not be true either. It’s pretty amazing how many people engage with what could very well be low effort ragebait or engagement farming from unverified sources. Beyond the program authorizations, board schedules, and official communication with your officer recruiter, I would encourage exercising greater skepticism, especially considering the community we’re vying for.

I was talking to a friend who is a CWT looking to apply for MCWO today about schedules and he said it is closed until FY27, however I’m wondering if it’s closed for fleet or if they discriminate like that?

My OR also recommended me Air warriors for getting good info for OAR or personal statements, but he did add not to spend too much time here and ask him if there are questions.

Yes, I submitted back in May for Intel. I don’t mean to cause confusion. I was a bit thrown off by it myself. My OR asked me to update my APSR based off a new list of open designators.
I am only applying to Intel so I’m hopeful that it’s a similar situation to last year where they over selected and canceled the remaining boards. I posted more so in hopes that my OR was incorrect and seeing if anyone else had heard since he messaged me today.

If NRC is going to adjust they will put out a new board schedule, it can take a few weeks to get that posted so what you are hearing may be true, just keep an eye out for a new board schedule.

If you are hearing from your recruiter that it has changed the question to ask is if it was from a new board schedule he received, too often rumors happen that aren't true.
