I took my first attempt on the ASTB this morning and there was no terrain identification on it. I was very confused and thought the test malfunctioned or something.

I got a 51 7, 9, 8. In NROTC. Is this competitive enough for pilot? 3.33 Teir 2 GPA.

It seems like there's been a huge delay for everybody. I submitted my ISEL SNA packet mid December 2025, and I just heard back late March that they've approved my ISEL & that I just need to wait to be assigned to an OCS class--which my recruiter mentioned was weird, as they usually have a OCS date when they approve a packet.

It was a rough 3-month wait, and it seems like there's a lot in the same boat. Stay hopeful & confident that you are an ISEL applicant. It's only a matter of time!
 
Took my first attempt at the ASTB last week and scored a 50 5/6/6, there was also no terrain ID on my test. Gonna start studying for a retake, thank you all who have posted their study strategies it helped a lot!

I primarily used the ASTB prep, as well as the OAR study guide sent over by my recruiter. I also have a copy of the Barron's book but some of the information is either out dated or not very representive of what is actually on the test. The Popeye and Cram ANIT flashcards were also invaluable.

Overall, Math was pretty on par difficulty wise as I was expecting- I had a lot of factoring, probability, and simple and compound interest questions. Reading was somehow more boring on the actual test than any practice tests I studied with. Mechanical comprehension was far easier than anticipated. PBM was definitely harder than I thought it'd be, but that's because I had basically no experience with a joystick and the inversion threw me off. Definitely planning on getting something to practice with. The UAV section was almost identical to how it was shown in the ASTB prep app.
