Putin: U.S. has triggered new arms race

"Russia's strong missile capabilities are no match for our European missile defense plans and will not upset the strategic balance in the region," Johndroe said. Is it just me or does that sound almost contradictory. I think it might be the way he said it, but I take it to mean that our...

    Academy or NROTC?

I guess my feeling is that it is generally a good thing for everyone to have gone through some type of bootcamp at one point in time. Not to learn the culture, I believe the culture is learned through being around it for long enough. I guess thats just my perspective as a Mid. My feelings...

    Academy or NROTC?

I think OCS should be your 3/c cruise. That way you dont have to do it when your done. The Marines do theirs during their 2/c cruise, but I think the Navy 2/c cruises (especially the aviation ones) are valuable teaching tools.

Putin: U.S. has triggered new arms race

The Russians have always had the potential to be a serious economic power. They have all of the necessary factors of production save one, capitol. Land, and Labor, have never really been a problem. That said, I dont see them comming out of the economic rut they have been in for the past 300 years.

You definitely dont want to bother the CO. However you may want to call and talk to the recruiting Lt or one of the other O-3s who are attached to the NROTC unit. They should be able to point in the right direction.

CNN: NRA opposes bill to stop gun sales to terror suspects

A terrorist with a gun is no different than a criminal with a gun. You cant stop them from getting guns, and the best way to stop them once they have guns is with a well armed citizenry with their own guns.

Agreed. My favorite is either Winchester white box (cheap and never had a problem) or UMC (also cheap and never had any mis fires or failures to feed) I use commie ammo in my commie guns but no where else.

It is my understanding, and someone correct me if I am wrong, but they don't need to be produced under license because the patent ran out on them a couple of years back. And by a couple I mean around 1918.

The reason the bill of rights exists is that Massachusetts (of all places) refused to ratify the constitution with out an explicit bill of rights. One of the things I have used on my Mosin Nagant to combat the gumming effect that the Russian ammo has is windex, or some other household cleaner that has ammonia in it. You have to be careful not to leave it in the gun to long though (nothing over an hour) because the ammonia can start to pit...
