Fyi, the base housing will be undergoing renovation here at NAS Jax. All families will be booted out, given the option and priority at Mayport base housing and a $500 month stipend for gas. That is all.

There are more former helo-AW's/Officers on this board than former VP AW/Officers. There are at six current VP DH's that are former HSL AW's just here in Jax. Don't under estimate the value of the "culture" of PT in the SAR world as a long-term career asset. VP has an unfortunate reputation...

There's a big difference in producing F-15's under license than F-22's. But other indigenous attempts at a front-line fighter haven't turned out so well (F-1 really not state of the art when fielded). It'd be great if they bought some though, good deterrent for the Su-33mk/ChiComs too.

USS Wasp, 1942, two RAF Spitfire squadrons were transported from England to relieve Malta. The Spits were covered by Wasp's Wildcats while they launched. There is some evidence that the Spits flew combat missions directly from the Wasp and recovered on Malta.
