I was told by Mrs. XXX in TRAWING6 stucon that we actually start accumulating flight pay the day we started API. But the pay doesnt start until after u class up for Primary. If this is true do we get backpay? Or was she just talking crazy?

Even if you are numero uno, it doesn guarantee your first choice. Depends on how many slots are available at the time, etc. Although, I have heard of COs going out of their way to give the #1 stud his or her choice. Again, Navy is like a box of chocolates....

If Miramar was still Navy, I wonder if it would have turned into the Strike Fighter Wing Pacific instead of Lemoore. Why didnt they move the Marines from El Toro and Tustin to Lemoore instead of moving the Navy out of Miramar? Maybe the older folk can explain this to inquiring minds.

You mean DOR? From ppl I know who left the flight program, it seems DOR and attrite are both used interchangeably. Maybe someone here can clear up the differences, if there are any.

From what I've learned from buddies who have just recently selected, its not what you want but what the Navy needs. So just work hard in flight school and just be happy with whatever the Navy gives you, even if its not your 1st choice. Youre a Naval Officer first, Naval Aviator second.

For $600, yea. I think its worth it. But definitely not the time. I have learned my lesson big time. The next time someone hits me, Ill be sure to bash their windshield in with a crowbar, immediately followed by a double-double from In-n-out.

I havent seen anyone with braces in flight school. I dont see why you cant have braces. You'd be able to have them tightened monthly. But I have no idea how they would affect your performance as a student aviator. Maybe get caught in the oxygen mask?? I'd call dental or your local officer...

I've had my permanent retainer on the bottom row for 2 years now both before and after commissioning nrotc. The Navy dental ppl didnt have any problems with it when I reported to NASP. As for having it before OCS, I doubt it would be a problem. It's not like theyre gonna pop out. But to be sure...

Nothing new there. Same thing happened when I was in A-pool last year. Inspection? They do inspections in A-pool? Never happened. And as mentioned earlier, you have serious issues if you fail an A-pool uniform inspection.
