Live across the bridge. I have friends living in the Mandarin area and they love it. The traffic here can be very unforgiving. But if you live across the bridge, traffic will not be an issue. I live in Orange Park and its a complete nightmare. 30-40 mins to travel 5 miles to base. Sux. See ya...

API to Wings was 11 months and 1 wk. This is including time in C-pool. From commissioning to Wings, about 20 months.

Yea, the Event Coordinator does a lot of the behind-the-scenes work. I have the "Making of a Blue Angel" and the NFO puts in as much flying as the pilots. Well, desk flying that is.

True. In San Diego, its like the mecca of flight suits. Especially since I lived in Mira Mesa. Many of our neighbors were Tomcat pilots/RIOs. So flights suits are no biggy. Especially during lunch. I saw an O-6 in his bag scrafing down a California burrito off of Nimitz Blvd. God i miss San Dog...

Welcome to the Forum :) As far as getting jets, it all depends on whats available come selection. After that, it comes down to grades. The class before mine had more jet slots than P-3 slots. In my class, we had no jet slots, just P-3s and E-6s. So really, no exact formula. Just tell your bf...

Poor SNA's who dont get to fly in the sexy T-6 (except for Vance). Us FOs were lucky enough to have that yellow/black handle between our crotch. Although it did suck when having to "adjust the goods" only to look down to see what you were tugging at :eek:

Big Navy is sending randomly selected SNFOs from the INAV syllabus of Intermediate (Pcola) straight to the RAG (VP-30 in Jax). Since Randolph is on the chopping block, its to ease the transition from TX to Jax. We do have Winged Randolph folks that attend our course and critic it (observers)...

That really blows to hear the passing % going up for the SNFOs. Had that been in effect when I went through API last May, many of my NFO friends would not have Wings right now. Its funny bc even here in the RAG we still reminisce of how sh!tty the API exams were compared to the exams we take...
