    Back.

Good post Goose. After finishing off 10 weeks of this monster, I think that this is probably the best part of your post. I think that it was the worst for me towards the end, if I'd be at the commissary or PX or whatever, seeing all the "normal" people buying their **** and thinking "wow...

    Your OCS Experience

yeah I almost stepped out of the 5-mile individual run to do the same. Yeah we got Leak good during the skits at the end.

    Broken but cleared to return

everyone had their own countdowns. "5 days and a wake-up" "6 more days" "dude if you dont count today and the last day, theres like 4 days left" "well family day is really only like a half day..." f-ing rediculous

    Broken but cleared to return

yeah Charlie had pretty low numbers I guess. Charlie 3 was roughly half direct commission. We only had 4 platoons with C1 being all the 10 week female candidates. I believe Alpha had 5 platoons so it was definately a numbers thing for us.

    Plc

pretty much...but all it really means is that assuming you pass all your stuff medically and physically, and graduate OCS and TBS, you get to give flight school a slot (as opposed to picking your MOS at TBS, here you already know). I noticed a lot of people (even some at OCS) thinking that they...

    No more chow bridge?

the thing that tripped me was in the middle of the bridge. I was 3rd sqd so I was always on the right side of the bridge going to the chow hall. Well the one day for whatever reason i filled in or something and was on the left side of the column, putting me right in the middle of the bridge...

    Plc

Also, try to get in contact with an OSO in your area. They should be able to bear the brunt of your questions plus give you a lot of info. this site probably doesnt have a thread explaining exactly what plc is, but it does talk about it very much. Once you get some info from an OSO, you will...

Best part of the hot chow...towards the end I wasnt able to eat them anymore
  11. Slammer2

    No more chow bridge?

I thought the chow hall was better food...just liked the boxed nasties better because we didnt have to cross the damn bridge. Then there was the one day towards the end...we crossed the bridge, went outside the gym and had boxed nasties...that sucked

    Armstrong program

Q1 - I think thats just a suggestion. A lot of people have questions as to what exactly the training sets are, so I think they just give you an example. Its probably different for each person. I think when I started (I had 10-11 like you) I had 3 for my training set. If you can do more than...

    TBS O-Course Vid

42 seconds....last summer. I believe it was someone from Kilo but I dont really remember all that well. We tried to beat it at the field meet this summer. I think someone from Alpha got like 50 seconds or so.

Anyone else get yelled at by the Col. during one of those bottlenecks on the E-course? Quigley is probably the best part of the e-course cuz it cools you off. Almost broke my damn legs jumping in there the first time though. Totally thought that water was a lot deeper jumping off those logs...

    Broken but cleared to return

the 5 more days and a wake up will consist of sheer boredom. Load of fun at the field meet, and skits afterward. Everything else sucks. We got into fights like every 10 minutes about stupid crap. Just try to be patient

    Marine OCS Preparation

no the only events that we use the camelbaks on were the humps and SULE 1 and 2. We took them a lot of places but always grounded them. At first they said that we're only going to use them like 5 times (I'm guessing for those few events) but then I guess someone suggested why not carry them...

    Marine OCS Preparation

Crud adds flavor. We dont really do anything with them. They're the USMC Tactical 3L version. We dont take the pouch out or anything. Just unscrew the big ass cap on the front. If we're in the squad bay, we just use the showers to fill it. Outside, we use the big water bowls or the big...

yeah those things are pretty nice. It was black flag all week. 0200 during the hump and still like 90 degrees. I drank almost the whole 3 liters each leg of the hump. We origionally got the alice packs then they took us back to get the new crap. They make us carry a lot more weight in the...

    pull up improvement

Exactly the reason I bought mine. Got it for $20 at the sporting goods store. Having it there made me do them, plus it was convienent. I did all kinds of crazy ass workouts with pullups trying all the programs and whatnot. They all worked good - Armstrong worked (worked wonders BTW), doing...

    1st Class Swim Test

While I have not been to API, I just recently completed a 45 minute tread water test for my SCUBA class. I would like to second what was said above by Brett. Since I lowered my body fat, I've noticed that when I try to do a back float, my whole lower body just sinks under the water. But if I...

Handed-down tip that might help out someone - we were advised to bring with us a Rub-A-Dub Sharpie marker instead of the regular black ones. The people who used it said that they marked their **** one time with it and it never faded after being washed. I have no personal experience with this...

    What happens...?

Does anyone know how this works on the Marine side of the house? Same way? A Lt. - who was working at the OSO office for a couple months last year while he was waiting - had some kind of medical problm with NAMI and could not be a pilot anymore. He was back in town waiting to go to school to...
