you'll fall asleep. I failed my first test because i fell asleep during it. If I would have answered like 1 more I would have passed. Sucked. The Bn XO made us stand up and sing a song for everyone if we fell asleep during his presentation towards the end of OCS. Quite funny.

one more thing - the thing that sucks is that theres typically only a few questions on them...so if you miss 3 or 4 you fail the test. but they're not hard at all. you just have to pay attention in class and read over the stuff here and there. I think they said that the tests are all on an...

That test is supposed to be for people returning to Srs PLC. You wont be tested on that stuff during inprocessing but it will be on tests later on. As far as cadences, the staff wont be calling them for the most part. Its all candidates calling cadences the whole time. The only time our...

And dont talk about food either. My sister sent me a letter saying how she just got back from Taco Bell. I hated her for about 8 weeks until I could get some of my own.

    The Guardian

I saw it last night. I thought it was good, but not a lot of action. A lot of BS love story stuff. Also, I didnt like how personal the students got with the staff. Didnt aseem that professional. I liked the movie though

At this point all you can do is wait. It sucks but theres nothing more you can do. Just enjoy your last few days and try to wait it out in peace. Sleep a lot, stay strecthed and limber and some mild PT - dont hurt yourself, enjoy all your meals...thats about it. You're gonna have a good time...

The morning routine was pretty much get up and get on line within 10 seconds. Then get dressed in the next 20 seconds. Then fix racks and shoe displays for about 15 seconds and then sweep the floor with our damn scuzz brushes for about 10 seconds. so I would highly reccommend staying on top...

Just a little bit more on that - the first few weeks we were going crazy trying to figure out what the different levels of probation meant. Everyone gets libo no matter what level of probation you are on. The part that differs is what you're allowed to do. If you get 1 failure on anything...

    PLC air question

your three catagories are ground, air, or law. Ground consists of pretty much all the ground jobs there are in the marine corps (your specific one to be determined at TBS) and Air contract consists of both pilot and Nfo. But yo uactually have to contract as either a pilot or an NFO.

one more thing - if you want to bring a stamp kit to mark all your white tapes that you put on your rifle, 782 gear, etc. then thats ok and would actually save a lot of time. Didnt really read this whole thread, but if you're talking about marking clothing and stuff I'd hold off.

They give you (read make you buy) that little stamping kit in the yellow box made by the Officer's Equipment Company. But they also gave us a 1" and 1/2" stencil that we used for most of our stuff. I wouldnt reccommend going crazy marking stuff before you ship because they give you a...

    Any more ASTB practice tests?

yeah the book describes the method to doing them. You need to set up your own pattern. For example, is the plane going out to sea or is it moving away from the sea towards the shore. Then see if its going straight into the sea/shore or is it flying at some angle to it. Then is it banked to...

Knowledge wise, make sure you know your general orders. They give you plenty of time to learn them there, but its better if you already know them. But make sure that you at least look over them and dont sit around thinking "yeah I know those". One thing I didnt know about was if I should...

yeah this past summer Charlie Co. Props if that was you. I've never seen it done that fast!! Did you guys go off and have dinner and do skits and stuff right after the field meet? We were in the classroom and I just wondered if you guys were there too on the other side.

fyi for those taking cars down...during liberty, they inspect cars before you're allowed to take them and leave (not every time, just at first). They check out stuff like making sure that your turn signals work and all your lights and all that hoohah. But they also make you have this safety...

I have never hit an 18:00 on the PFT. You dont need to have an 18:00 PFT to succeed at OCS. The faster you are and the more endurance you have the better, but my fastest time was 19:03 and my avg. time while at OCS was about 21:00. I'm not saying slack off or anything, but for you guys...

A couple of random questions about OCS

The ham and cheese was actually not too bad. Not too fond of the mystery meat though. You move about as a platoon even during in-processing. If you get there early, you'll most likely get a head start, but you dont get to go to sleep at night any sooner.
  48. Slammer2

    Any more ASTB practice tests?

If you can pass everything in the ARCO book then there should be no reason to get other stuff. The test really isnt that hard. I'm not saying blow it off, but if you've studied everything you have, then you should be fine. Good luck on the test.
