    Stimulus Bill

That's what bothers me the most. Visibility on government actions has been a large talking point yet on a huge bill like this it's not allowed.

    Gun with history?

Don't sell it/trade it in. Whether or not it was from an average German Joe or someone famous, it's still 60-something years old, and they are getting harder and harder to come by. Add on to it that it was your grandfather's, I'd definitely not get rid of it. Just my $.02, but 50 years from...

Yeah, I'm not a cop by any means but it just looked weird. I mean, unless he was sitting there watching his cameras and waiting, that was an amazingly rapid response to those guys running in. Either way, great vid.

SERE school (Survival, Escape, Resistance, Evasion)

Ha, not quite. I had a few moto AW's ask me about it the other day and no one around the squadron really knew much. Hell, after reading more about it on here and other places, it sounds interesting.

SERE school (Survival, Escape, Resistance, Evasion)

The one I was referring to is advanced evasion. I know it's commonplace to call it advanced SERE but it's not technically since it doesn't have the RTL. I'm looking at it to see if sending a pilot(s) and/or aircrew would be good for training opportunities with the rest of the squadron...

SERE school (Survival, Escape, Resistance, Evasion)

Advanced SERE/Evasion Has anyone been and can give some info the course? Can take this offline to pm/email if need be, I'm just trying to see if this would be a good course to go to/send a few pilots and/or aircrew to.

Stay Away From PCS Real Estate in Milton

Just to clarify, technically all military clauses written in the state of Florida that don't follow the Florida statute are invalid, regardless if both renter and landlord agree to something different. Now, what actually happens may be different, I'm just trying to point out what is legally...

    Over my head in debt...

I think you guys just said the same thing. It's not the money per se, it's the delinquency that has become the issue. If a guy has 30k in credit or a 200k home loan doesn't matter, it's can he be fiscally responsible and cover those debts (which in this case, appears to be no).

    P'Cola Gun Show Feb 7 - 8

I think it's these shows, http://www.floridagunshows.com/. I went today and picked up a shotgun for about $150 less than list. Some prices at the show were pretty good, some were about average. Selection was decent, heavy on handguns vice long guns.

Gun show at the Fairgrounds. I think it's the same company that'll be in Pensacola this coming weekend. They had a pretty good selection of guns. My roommate scored a Mauser for pretty cheap too.

    10% cut in military budget

That's a double-edged sword. Congress has to balance what they think is good for the U.S. with what they think will benefit their constituency. I for one don't like the idea of the guys in D.C. thinking solely in terms of the entire United States, because that glosses over who voted to put them...

    10% cut in military budget

Then why is it that most, if not all, Japanese companies that exist in the U.S. don't have unions? To add on to that, at those plants/factories, when unions have been voted on, they get voted down. I'm not bashing unions, the did a good job, it's just interesting to see how everyone says...

I think part of it too is that guys underestimate the chip trail and the weather in Florida. My run time surprised the hell outta me the first time I ran...

Stay Away From PCS Real Estate in Milton

I'm no lawyer, so take this with a grain of salt. The Florida clause specifically says that you have to give them 30 days and are responsible for the 30 days. So, in your case, you'd be on the hook till Feb 5th, but not the whole month of February. At least that's the way I read it, off of the...

    150 million big ones...

While that may be true, I think the point the OP was trying to make was that 30 cents a person is still high. Hell, cut it in half to 15 cents, it's still 75 mil, and there's 75 mil that can be used for something else. I have high hopes for the upcoming presidency, and I voted for McCain, but...

US AIRWAYS Crash in the Hudson River

I personally feel that any other pilot would've done pretty much the same thing. That's the point of repeated training. The crew had very little options and he took the most viable one. I also think that luck was a big part of it, would everyone be saying "hero" if the plane had sunk almost...

Current A-Pool/API students? Pathetic...or The Great Mustin Beach O'Club Thread

One thing I found interesting, and maybe PSW can back this up, but I went on a friend of mine's destroyer a few months ago. It was after work and I had my bag on, and all the SWO's referred to me as a "shoe". I was like "wtf?" until they said it was the brown shoes. Never occurred to me that...

Current A-Pool/API students? Pathetic...or The Great Mustin Beach O'Club Thread

Yeah, well, don't have any understanding for them, it's that line of thinking that perpetuates the wearing of black shoes. Tell them they are pussies and they need to sack up and wear their brown shoes.

For me, up until I read this thread, it never even crossed my mind to tip these guys. I just always made sure they were fed well and had enough gatorade/water/cokes available. So far (knock on wood) the worst thing that has happened was a digital camera "got lost" during an unpack, and that...

Not entirely commercial aviation, but anyone else seen this documentary? I'm a big fan of going and renting a Cessna or Piper on the weekends so I really enjoyed the film.
