Firing at us? Trying to help you?

Snow, You brought up some good insight for the majority of people there. However, you cannot tell me that the 'thugs' causing the major crimes are only doing that out of necessity for survival. Think like a criminal...knowing that your 'paradise' of unlimited criminal acts will come...

    Bye bye P-cola OCS

Perhaps it is just at the discretion of the PNS at your unit, but it is still used for that. Edit: An exception to attending as a College Program student, would probably be whether or not they have completed the first two years of Naval Science classes.

    Bye bye P-cola OCS

NWC is not under OTC. It sounds like you may think that. Chaplain School, STA-21/BOOST, NSI, and OIS are under OTC. NAPS (as someone already mentioned) is there too, but they are their own entity as well.

    closing NASCC

If you look at the DOD's BRAC proposal, it has NASCC for realignment. The numbers for that were ~900 military personnel. The following defense site: http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Aug2005/20050825_2529.html has stated that the BRAC commission voted to close NASCC. Another site reports...

More bases added to BRAC? Oceana?

Does anybody really think that the the economic impact of closing NAS Oceana would be comparable to that of NS Roosevelt Roads? It would have an economic impact, but it would not be the same as Puerto Rico felt. If Oceana went bye-bye, there would still be at least 4 installations in the...

    Pensacola vs Hurricane

It seems that everyone here was more prepared this time around for Dennis. Probably a large portion due to "lessons learned" from Ivan. Another huge factor was that Pcola didn't end up on the eastern edge of the eye this time. Haven't been down to the beaches yet, but I heard Navarre and...

API issues cleared up by August?

It is a shame that the Navy had to raise the NSS for FY04 SNAs (A relief for the FY05 guys though). Unfortunate because not everyone is good at taking exams, and many were borderline. Too bad Primary couldn't have been used to reach the attrition numbers. It sounds like you are an FY04 Stud...

The NROTC Unit there should have at least one LT from the aviation community. You should be able to get some info there as well as see what NROTC is like. One thing though, if you want to be a pilot, is that you would have to be commissioned. Enlisting and commissioning are different...

    anyone heard this?

It wouldn't make sense that they would use the O-course as a method to attrite more SNAs. The reason for me saying that is because they recently removed the 6% from the PRT that was applied to the API NSS. The API NSS is strictly based on academics now. If the O-course was going to be used as...
