Do they they not hand out the big rolled up poster of the cockpit anymore? That was good stuff, as it also identified everything.

Yes, they still issue the cockpit poster. Only thing wrong with it, is that it does not show the most important feature...the air conditioning toggle switch.

Hey ... when u get there just go in the sim bldg and take pics of the cockpit ... thaz wht I did ..... basically i took pics of the front, left and rt consoles and put them on the floor and sat between them. Then I would do my EPs or wht ever and touch the gauge or switch (picture) that was in the procedure ..... helped my out a lot cause I got into the habit of linking the motions with the procedure.

Peace,

Horsesh!t. I didn't get issued that poster when I checked in, and when I asked for one was told they were out and I couldn't get one. Oh well, not like its necessary anyway.

I had a similar pic of a T-34 cockpit prior to starting primary. I used it to practice for just about every flight. I put a chair in front of it and went through the motions of the flight, the entire flight, in that chair.

I hung my T-34 cockpit poster in front of the toilet. Then I took a plunger and stuck in on the floor in front of the toilet. "Education through defacation", and no - I'm not kidding... It helps too, because you shouldn't study your EPs without doing something - because when it happens for real, I guarantee you've got a million and one things going on in the cockpit.

Did anyone go to Wings in Pensacola, they sell a T-34 cockpit poster, I am a few weeks from starting Primary so I don't know if it is as up to date as the real cockpits, but it does have GPS in the picture. I like it and use it to study right now. Oh, and yes I will be drinking as much as possible during this time as well.

I used to juggle tennis balls while learning EPs - works good.

First off, after a bit of searching I came up with a good source for cockpit photos. Got this one: http://www.dfrc.nasa.gov/gallery/photo/T-34C/Medium/EC97-44065-2.jpg

Anyone been through primary recently? Is this accurate or a 30 year old file photo? :D

As mentioned before, outdated....but more importantly, waaaayyyy to freakin clean. Needs about 74 layers of dust dirt grime and sweat :p and maybe a brown stain or two in the seat based on some mentioned "study techniques".....damn habit patterns

Good man. I'll be honest (not a role model here), when in flight school, if I wasn't flying, I usuallywasn't sober. I never partied and carried on as I did back than, even in college. Flight school should be a great ****ing time. FLY HARD, DRINK HARD, PARTY HARD.

well you're over water, calm winds, so ditch into the wind and attempt to land on the upwind side of a swell.
