Can be a bear, for sure. I actually lived in Crystal Lake Apartments during A-pool/API. Very close to the front gate. Far from the "action" of Pcola. In retrospect, I would have preferred to live closer to Davis/Downtown.

The (NAS) Governor's Gate area is probably the best bet. You're near everything (supermarkets, restaurants, etc) for the most part (except beach stuff), you're in a nice midpoint if you get Whiting, and the commute to base isn't tough (20-25 minutes).

Pretty damn funny. The clothing was DEAD ON too. You can peg a group of Marines, ESPECIALLY those fresh out of TBS, by the style of dress. They all dress the same.

What used to be stationed at NAS Alameda? FAS and Global Security, as well as Wikipedia, don't give much more info on that other than the B-25s from the Doolittle raid.

Been to Oceana. Stop bragging you a$$ :D I said Lemoore isn't as bad as they say, not it's as good as Oceana ;) Combine that with 110 degree heat and you have yourself a fun time! People with allergies here have the most miserable time. So many of our guys go med-down because of them.

Rent a house or apartment if you aren't excited about buying. Once you finish the RAG, then you can determine if you want to buy. Lemoore isn't as bad as they say it is. Pensacola is a better deal... but it's not the end of the world. It's not Meridian or Kingsville.

I standby my assertion that this thread has no place. The restaurant thread was localized to places like Pensacola and Meridian. It had a direct link to those moving there or living there for "MWR". This thread? Useless.
