Lola, Not necessarily. That is how it worked out for me is where I went to MEPS in the morning then went to my recruiters office to do the PRT. They are two separate things; the PRT does not occur at MEPS, but rather with you recruiter.

On my second solo cross country I got lost right on top of the Mansfield VOR. What a dumbass I was back then, but it is a good thing that we learn from our mistakes.

Some are worthwhile, but most of the ribbons don't mean anything. I think it is a joke to see some 15 year old kid running around with a stack of ribbons that make him look like a field grade general.

Classic CAP, acting like they are doing something that is awe-inspiring important. Sometimes I just laugh when I see this crap happening, then sometimes I really have to restrict myself from going on a tirade. "I know they are not commissioned officers.....but do THEY know they are not...

you won't make august. the package must be in to them by the end of the month preceding the next; so for the august board the package must be in by tomorrow. BTW, most boards meet on the 15th of the month, though there are some that meet on the 30th.

Well, thats basically one spot gone from the allotted slots for the August board (Unless he tells them he is a pot-head, drug loving, crime lord in the motivational statement)

I turned in my package for the May board w/o my newest grades which came out in mid-April. I didn't have to wait for the June boards.

At this point, there is not much more you can do to improve your package. A good motivational statement will help. It looks to me you have a good shot to get a spot in OCS with and SNA/NFO designator. Maybe getting some flight hours under your belt might be a good idea; just a thought.

How old are you? You should also look into the Civil Air Patrol, especially if you are interested in flying. You can learn to fly using CAP aircraft and get scholarships to learn how to fly. The only catch is that you have to be under 18 to join as a cadet and get these scholarship...

If you absolutely want to get into a fighter/attack, you might want to look into the ANG. You fly whatever the squadron you join is currently flying. Just another option.

I don't think that the lighting is tower controlled. It seems like it is operated like a VASI where it recognizes aircraft on the ground or in the sky. The new system doesn't seem like a bad idea, though I agree that it is unnecessary and yet another thing for pilots to worry about.

I got the Barron's test study guide and it really helped. Its pretty cheap too, you should check it out before taking the test again; if you decide to do so.

You are also getting a housing and food allowance. For example, in Columbus we get $695 a month for housing plus ~$300 for food. That is why your pay is much greater than what is shown on the chart.

I just took it too this morning. Seemed fine to me. I noticed a trend that all of the lines had the popped up circles in numbers 2-4, none were 1 or 5; but that was after the fact.
