Also, make sure you are being SMART about your PT. Running every day isn't necessarily a good idea....especially if you aren't in shape in the first place. Search around online for workouts, I believe there are some in this forum as well. Make sure you don't injure yourself in the process.

If you mean Naval Aviation switching from T-34Cs to the T-6 for Primary Flight Training...you are correct. The NFOs already use it for Primary/Intermediate. None of the pilot Primary squadrons have T-6s yet, but it's on the horizon.

Along with what FLYTPAY said.. I read the whole systems book before Primary....it was wasted time. I spent hours reading a book w/ no lecture/discussion to supplement it, as a result didn't retain anything. Enjoy the time you have off, you'll be plenty busy in the future.

What biker said, but also head down to the hangers and just sit in a Bravo. You can familiarize yourself with the whole cockpit, but dont flip the switches etc. When I started the CPTs were pretty crowded, so I spent most of my time practicing in the actual aircraft. Just make sure you sit...

It was the summer of 2003. Keep in mind there was still an S-3 FRS (VS-41), so my experience was unique. The P-3 ride that I bummed was being in the right place at the right time.

I guess things have changed. I showed interest in the VS community, and got a ride in an S-3. I showed interest in VP, and got a ride in a P-3. If your interested in it, pursue it. The worst they can say is no.
