    A little advice for .40 S&W's?

Good point, I thought this applied more towards using your handloaded ammo for self defense. But you never can underestimate the stupidity of the average American.

    Glock 37

Go over to the GlockTalk forum and do some searches. This topic has been covered extensively there as well. That forum is a great resource for all things Glock. That said, I'd go w/ the 21. It's definetly a proven pistol and they have a new version, the 21SF (short frame) out there now. It...

    TIMS Tips and Tricks

Don't waste your time with the running total. It's pretty much garbage and the numbers vary by squadron as well. I got a 50 with a TIMS ratio way different from what was posted above. It's not worth the time, you'll only drive yourself nuts with it. Study briefing items.

    A little advice for .40 S&W's?

Never fired an HK. I owned a P229 and it was a fantastic weapon. It handles the .40 very well and is VERY accurate. It also comes with different trigger options, so decide between SA/DA and DAK. I had an SA/DA and both were very smooth.

    Leave after Primary?

I would imagine that if you are going helos, the wing will want you up here ASAP. I selected Thursday the 9th, and am classing up with HT-8 on the 16th. Granted I was already at Whiting for Primary, but they are hurting for Navy guys and I'd assume youd have to get up here pretty quickly...

The Monster COD thread (homage to the C-2A Greyhound)

Since Kmac mentioned the -53, thought I'd pose a different question.... How often does the -53 community do lifting/cargo for a carrier group? Does it supplement the Air Wing's C-2s, or does it provide a different capability that the C-2s and -60s don't have? I'm not trying to bag on CODs or...

Away the boarding party (VBSS and SWOs with guns); Marines, too!

I know specifically for the officers who lead the VBSS parties, they take a course and get qual'ed up for it. I have a buddy in the process of getting his VBSS qualification right now.

To piggyback on this one, I've had my custom inserts for almost 3 months now and have seen some definiite imporvement. Not as instantaneous as Black Bear describes, but my injury (plantar fasciitis) takes a LONG time to heal. For those of you on that have lower leg injuries AND are on...

What Feddoc said. They did the sinus X Ray on me after a ROUGH year of infection, bronchitis and allerigies. Everything turned out OK and the ENT put me on year-round Flonase. If they offer it, take it, tis a miracle drug.

    Getting married during flight school

I managed to do it during API. I gambled on the fact that I would graduate in May, do IFS at my NROTC unit and then sit in the A Pool for a long time down at Pensacola. In my case it worked out perfectly. We got married during the "Christmas Break" for the Training Commands and it worked out...

    How to Ship My Guns

It's as simple as going to FEDEX (call them ahead of time) and having them shipped to an FFL on your end. I tried doing it via UPS a few months back....those morons have no concept of the law. FFL is only required on the recieving end of the shipment. FEDEX was quite accomodating, but...

    Academy or NROTC?

So you are an NROTC drop out? I guess that makes you a legitimate judge of talent. You're probably right though, I'm sure all your classmates will be sh!tty officers, you'll be better off doing OCS.... FYI, you learn more about being a leader in the SECOND half of your NROTC experience...

I had PRK, so obviously my experience is different. That said..... It seriously took me more than 3 months to see well (20/20). My right eye has never even corrected to 20/20, 20/25 is the best I got. But it was worth it considering it was 20/450 before! You will play mind games with...

Air Force purchasing their own handgun

The military's M11 pistol is actually a Sig P228, not a 226. It is the more compact version of the 226 with a slightly shorter barrel and shorter height, hence the 13-rd capacity vs. the 226's 15. For those of use who own/have owned the P229, it is very similar to the 228/M11 except it is a...

How long does it take to Recover from PRK?

Relax. Had my PRK done in December, wasn't seeing 20/20 together until March or so. My right eye is still 20/25, but it's all the way down from 20/450! Some people don't always correct to 20/20, but you'll be fine and within standards. Just keep using the drops or whatever.

    T-6

Caught, been here since Feb. Asked around about T-6s/T-34s in the pattern and haven't heard of anyone doing it. Seen them transit the area many times though. So when you mention those 4 fields, they can all support the T-6 for pattern work?

    T-6

So what does that leave? I have NEVER seen a T-6 in the pattern in any of the working areas, never even heard anyone mention seeing them either. I'm sure writing a new FTI and course rules will be fun....
  33. NozeMan

    T-6

Yeah, that would make a lot of sense. Course rules would be REALLY quick! It reverses the pitch of the prop when all the wheels are on the deck. Basically, it's reverse thrust to help you slow down very quickly. Makes the T-34C stop on dime...relatively....

    T-6

I was under the impressing that for us to have the T-6 at Whiting, it would NEED Beta. You can land w/o Beta at Whiting, but the real problem is the OLFs. The longest runway out in the areas is ~4k. Many are 3k. It will also end split field ops at Whiting, which doens't make me cry. The AF...

Tennessee votes to repeal ban on handguns in public buildings

You're right. Recently the FL Legislature passed a law saying that the family of a burglar/intruder CANNOT sue the person who shot them. FL is very serious about their "castle doctrine". If you enter someone's house uninvited, the law sees it is a self defense scenario.

The %'s of classes that go to the various warfare communities will vary from school to school. Just as an example, at Purdue at least 75% of my class went to the Aviation community. Obvisouly it can't be this way at other schools because other communities like subs and surface wouldn't get...

As the podiatrist will tell you, foot stuff is all about time.
