    So speaking of RC helicopters...

"Show me the W-2!!" (apologies to Jerry McGuire) I'd have to say the average RC helo guy does not make tons of money. Maybe 1% get to the top in their "field", as in the skateboard world, so I don't think they're all rolling in it.

    Is Military Aviation Worth It?

We'll see after the elections in November.... WRT the OP; IMHO, it's worth it. I'd do it all again. What a ride. !!! Please capitalize your letter "i" lest you get a ticket.

Definitely go with a safe. Try http://www.budsgunshop.com for some good deals, delivered. The outside of mine... The thickness...abouy 3/8 steel. And even though the hinges are covered and external, there are plenty of locking bars in the door. Remove the hinges and it will still stay...

All pretentious pimps aside.... Did the same watch deal in 2000. Got the Omega for $800 on a group deal with a buddy who was an LSO out of Atsugi. A good deal if you get offered it. Mine with the USNFWS logo on the back.

Looking for gouge? Ask your Stupid Questions about Naval Aviation here (Part 1)

You should know the PIM before you launch from the flight brief on CVIC TV. You have GPS nav and RLG Nav Systems that are accurate to a Gnat's ass. You usually also have a TACAN on at the CVN and controllers and smallboy radars that can see you out to at least 100 miles. Lots of ways to...

Source for Academy Time not counting towards retirement

However, somethings did count in the "old days." I work with a guy who is '89 USNA and is retiring in '08 as his one year at NAPS counted. He'll have 19 years as an officer and his one year at NAPS.

See if you can get an age waiver if that is the only obstacle. Good possibility as you have prior time, right? Slim chances to go SNFO to SNA after you are in the pipeline.

Varsity sports, team captain and good grades mean a lot. Attending Summer Seminar is a plus. Also if you get an offer to come visit for an overnight stay at the academy. All good signs. Class president and other student government roles do not carry much weight.

Nice rifle. My beater is a Marlin 336CR lever action brush gun in .35 Remington. Made in 1959. Got it for $80. Sweet action and shoots spot on at 50 -100 yards with Williams iron sights. FlyNavy, I have a C&R in MD will that work to get me a $80 rifle. How did you work your deal?
