Remember the air bus that did a demo and flew into the trees on a low pass...in that mishap I believe the autopilot was in an approach mode and did not respond to a waveoff power addition.
Pilots in this case are saying it was not responding to their power increase even thought the throttles...
Hey Spike...Done Cubi O'Club many times (phew)...always a good time.
I personally liked the cute waitresses in their customized shit hots better than any air wing bubbas.
Spike...come on now...given a chance to ping on VFA-147 do you think the rest of the air wing would pass it up...We Keed, We Keed.
More common in my day were the Langley stripes you wore on the front of your green bag with embroidered wings. They went from the shoulder crease to the pocket.
Not always the case.
Say you mort in a car wreck. If you have SGLI and/or supplemental insurance, your folks now have some extra money to tie up loose ends in your "absence."
You can also choose a beneficiary which could be a sibling or relative in case you die.
Saw that with an F-14A from VF-211 on JCS. Stick jammed full aft on cat shot. Up, up and away...from Cat 3, across the bow in Full A/B, gear coming up...all pilot could get out was "trim" on radio before they punched out as jet performed a beautiful hammerhead stall and crashed just off the...
Nose,
NFOs got them as well. Was your's embossed with a US Navy stamp like a notary would use? Mine is.
I got mine in Aug 87, looked exactly the same except said "Naval Flight Officer." I got to dig it out now....
Cheers,
G
I got shot off Cat 1 on the Ranger by then CO Burner Bob Hickey, at anchor just off Coronado Island. As laonag as you got the laucnh bulletin winds required. We had a ton of natural wind and guess what???...the carrrier fiars to the relative wind on the hook, too. :)
Very interesting clearing...
So he flew his new toy Harrier once, it broke and now it sits. Off he goes like a butterfly on a flower to another toy...
Damn it must be nice to have that kind of $$$.
To the SNA/SNFO wanabees: If this was a mishap involved serious injury or fatalities...the gallows humor would be inappropriate.
WRT naval aviation mishaps, if everyone gets out okay, learn from it, brush it off and keep flying.
Concur...just need to know you're not flying with "NAFOD" *
In our VF world...the more senior RIOs flew with the FNGs right out of the FRS. It could be very eye opening.
My worst pass in the F-14 was with a DCAG when I was on CVW staff. I went out and saw the hook scrape just feet from the...
Yuri, are you a US citizen? You ancestry could be suspect for a background investigation.
What exactly is "university?"
To be 100% honest, yes, enlist. It will be easier and you have an almost 100% chance of becoming enlisted.
All it needs is air moving over the wing at the right speed and AOA to fly...I'm guessing people are confusing the propwash for that.
The propeller and associated propwash is what moves the plane through the air mass to generate the air/lift over the wing.
right?
