As far as I can recall, my recruiter told me that the time in service counts for pay and retirement both. I have never heard any differently either.

You do not have to have a technical degree for a pilot spot. Feel the situation out with your recruiter... things are competitive right now and any little advantage you can give yourself (like a tech. degree) will probably help.

DAVID chair (I think that is what it is called - don't know for sure) is what you sit in to be measured. They do some sort of computer-magic and then give you your anthros. Someone who's been through training can elaborate more.
