    Noise Suppression Technology

That "Lindburgh One" or whatever aproach is pretty sweet though, 270, then hard left to land on 18 (am I right?). As is the "hotel visual" approach (to 27, I think...). "A guy I know" (cough...ahem) got the dreaded "Please come left and avoid hotel overflight..." call...Boy was my...er...

    Advanced Maritime to Reserves?

You're in prop advanced right now, has anyone winged been sent to a reserve squadron lately? Where's your gouge coming from? That's pretty big news, and sending an active duty O-1 or O-2 to a reserve squadron would require some kind of TAR set up. That and those guys aren't hurting for people...

Just found this on baseops.net, and while that place is usually pretty dry (HEAVY usaf influence...insert your own comment here), this one had me smiling. (you FOs know I love ya, your 150% brains make up for the half of mine I drink away). Two Navs are walking through the squadron and one...

How to use the reputation point function...

Just a note, make sure you check if you are hitting "I approve" (the first one), or "I disapprove" before you submit. I've gotten like 4 hits in the negative with comments like "right on!" or "I agree", or "so true!" or "eat me" (you know who you are).

50/50 on the missions. You do a lot more surveillance/ASUW type hops in the Gulf. You do a lot more ASW in the Pacific. West Coast guys deploy out of Whidbey Island WA and Hawaii. 5th fleet deployment covers the Gulf and the Indian Ocean. 7th Fleet covers Japan and Southeast Asia. You...

Ok, good, pointed questions. (A) I was drafted into P-3s. While I was very interested in the community and had heard cool stuff from my instructors, no one had selected P-3s in 6-7 months due to a back up at the RAG. I totally thought I was helo-bound, and I was happy with it. The week I...

you sure that wasn't RIMPAC, the annual exercise held each summer? I know one of the CVBGs was given all kinds of kudos for 'surging' from alaska ops to rimpac, making the transit pretty quickly.

    Primary Location Info again

There WAS a zoo in Corpus, and I went once. It was out by the botanical gardens (aka, "here is a desert in a fenced enclosure"). The "zoo" had a (no-sh!t) DOG in a cage. And a cow. I really think Corpus is an okay place, but that kind of stuff is what gives it such a bad rap.

Ok, here's one, I know I can't sell back my days. One of my buds told me there's a way to give your leave days to another person. I have 93 days on the books and my class graduates on 30 Sept. There is no way I can possibly take leave between now and then. So rather than eat anything over...

Elder, the pic is coming, I promise. So they got rid of all the filipino ladies??? WHo runs it now? Is it that weird old lady, very butch, with the wispy mustache? I'll agree on the training part of the T-44 syllabus. The plane isn't hard to fly, but a no-heading NDB with simulated...

I'm at DLI now, 75% done with the Basic Spanish Course, so yes, there are officers here. Anyone have a picture of the T-44A cockpit?

The plane isn't hard to fly, and its a blast once you get the feel for it (took me a little longer than some guys...). Advice... Sit with your fam partner and get the checklist responses down COLD. It will make things much easier. If it still runs the same, and I'd imagine it does...the...

    Navy F/A-18s Collide - 2 Dead.

"They always say they have a team investigating".... I'm not sure if you mean to, but you sound as if you are doubting the system through which squadrons investigate mishaps. Every squadron, USN and USMC, has a designated team to initiate mishap investigations in a timely manner (read: ASAP)...

    NFO NSS Question

If they were to 'draft' you, you could pull the puke card. It MAY help. Speaking of 'the draft', that kind of thing usually gets good rumor press before it kicks in, not always, but usually. When do you select?

Start reading profiles. I AM a P-3 Aircraft Commander. You do not understand the operations of these aircraft. The purpose of a P-3 is not to land on a dirt strip and unload troops/gear. The worst place I've had to land still had a hard, albeit sh!itty and in disrepair, runway. The same...
