    U-2 carrier landings

I saw a U-2 below my lead and I climbing during my high alt roll-in flight out of NJK. Pretty neat to see.

    Chinese Carrier

I'm reminded this everytime I roll into the groove when I've not had more than a full-stop in several weeks. Also, has anyone here read Kissinger's On China? Thoughts? I was considering picking it up to fill in what little spare time I do have while I'm in the RAG.

T-38 BFM HUD - Funny Stuff

After only two BFM hops, I'd probably say you're right. This A/C is ridiculous.

T-38 BFM HUD - Funny Stuff

Strike and Strike-Fighter complete, with the exception of SES. Starting Fighter-Weps and BFM Friday or Monday, would be my guess. I'm not saying the Hornet isn't a great deal of fun to fly, it is, and incredibly capable. Rather my sentiment was that T-45 is very simple, and the flying was...

T-38 BFM HUD - Funny Stuff

"Kill that motherf***er!" That was excellent. I think I'd have to KIO due to intense abdominal pain from laughing if I heard that coming from the backseat. All that being said, solo ACM flights in the T-45C - Hi-Aspect and Three-Plane specifically, are still, despite flying the Hornet, the...

    Plantar Fasciitis

While I'm pretty far removed from OCS, I'd do whatever possible to give my foot a break prior to shipping. You're obviously in good enough shape where the physical aspect of OCS shouldn't be an issue so take the next eight weeks and allow your foot to heal to the max extent possible. You can...

New MARADMIN- no more rolled sleeves in cammies.

Unfortunately you're likely speaking the truth; I'm only speaking for the Marines I spend my time around, and they're generally aviators, and hence have more sense and have consumed less kool-aid.

New MARADMIN- no more rolled sleeves in cammies.

A necessary evil required at OCS and TBS, and dropped promptly thereafter.

New MARADMIN- no more rolled sleeves in cammies.

That's excellent. I may have to pick up some of that stuff for a handful of buddies. Thanks!

New MARADMIN- no more rolled sleeves in cammies.

Yes, we do. I've only ever done that type of training in the "Quantico highlands" battling the CRF, so it made more sense to wear woodlands as it was much more fitting for the terrain in that environment. Slightly off topic - Anyone still in TBS, or having recently left - Are we still fighting...

New MARADMIN- no more rolled sleeves in cammies.

Regarding your first point - It's uncomfortable as hell wearing rolled sleeves if you routinely go to the gym - I don't blame dudes for cutting them, and they look better. And the only guys I've ever known to do it also made sure to keep a spare blouse on hand "just in case." As for the second...

    a varsity move

Pretty awesome. On a side note, anytime I've heard "it was a pretty varsity move," the preceding words were something to the extent of "I was certain you f*cked it away..." Then to follow, "It's probably easier if you don't put yourself in that situation." Guess that applies here too!

What are the best glasses for flying

I I've never had an issue either. Concur with contacts being the best option and glasses limiting field of view.

Say what you will, but if that things works as advertised, it's a capability I'd love to have.

    REQUEST: Good aviation/military books

Got through the first fifth of it this evening after reading your endorsement and downloading it. A quick read so far, and funny - I caught myself laughing aloud multiple times... Despite being the only person in my apartment.

    F-16 ramming a 757?

"With only 105 lead-nosed bullets on board..." I think that might do a fair amount of damage to a large, non-maneuvering, target.

Dead burglar's family awarded $300k in damages

If we have a "like" button for posts, can we have a dislike button? Selling those cars is that owner of the dealership's livelihood, by attempting to take his livelihood from him the would-be thief was threatening his life. If more people felt this way, we'd likely have a lot less theft and...

Best and worst experiences with flight instructors

Take it in stride dude - Aim to make your gradesheets one page/half page/one paragraph. I know it is Primary, but once you get beyond you'll simply be expected to perform well and the best you can hope for is a "No issues" on a debrief point. Out of curiosity, what is his background?

After a brief hiatus, the KING KAT returns!

Not many photos have shown up on Facebook yet, but here is one of the first cat shot since we reintroduced it.
