Here in my Car, I feel safest of all

Wow. Thanks for letting me in on that. Just think, I might have gone all through life not knowing how clueless I am. So the designer was a dude? I don't think I could have guessed that just by looking at the car. OK, so obviously you didn't sense the sarcastic/tounge-in-cheek nature of my...

Here in my Car, I feel safest of all

OK, so I was thinking about getting a GTO. Maybe I liked it a little, maybe quite a bit, but I'm going to stick to my guns on this one. It was designed by women for women, and I wouldn't be caught dead in one.

The Tomcat Legacy; 35+ years from Fleet Air Defender to Recce to Precision Strike

With who? I watched Top Gun again just to make sure and I couldn't find a single scene with Tom Cruise riding in a super hornet. Without some serious love from Hollywood, I don't think the rhino has a chance.

Here in my Car, I feel safest of all

The GTO drives like a boat and looks like it was designed by a woman. I'll take my WRX over a GTO anytime.

    Looking for roommates in Meridian

I'm a Navy guy in Meridian waiting to class up. If you are looking for a roommate for a house or appartment off base, PM me.

    Heading to Vance

About the environment, it seriously depends on the flight commander. We have one flight in the 8th that has the students (i.e. the whole flight) wear blues/khakis and/or come in on weekends when they suck at stan. There are both extremes at Vance. My flight was completely the opposite--totally...

    House Hunting

while we're on the subject... I'm coming to meridian around may 15 (no class date yet) and I'm wondering if the base bachelor quarters are any good. Any thoughts on the pros/cons of living in the BQ on base? Also, if anybody is looking for a roommate for a house off base PM me.

For those who are voluntold or are going to volunteer for Vance AFB flight training!

Being Navy a student in the 8th right now, the main thing I can say is that your experience at Vance will depend quite a bit on which flight you end up with. For those that don't know, a "flight" is an air force organizational unit. In this case, a flight consists of several IP's and about 12...

For those who are voluntold or are going to volunteer for Vance AFB flight training!

I like it here at Vance, but I don't like the AF treating us like little kids. I like having the academics and sims taught by retired military pilots because they are laid back and have a ton of experience. The list of rules for my flight is about 6 or 7 pages of 8-point text that makes you...

    Optimum PRT Speed

I retract my previous offensive statement about the Air Force. My appologies.

Does anyone know where to get a set of aviation working greens? I couldn't find any online places that have them.

    Optimum PRT Speed

How dare you suggest that I am not good enough for your navy and that I should join a lesser service.:icon_rage That might be optimum if effort is the only consideration, but not if the ratio score/effort is the objective function. I suppose a lazy person might throw in a constraint that...

    Optimum PRT Speed

What a strange person. I was serious about 10 mph being the optimum speed for the PRT. I worked it out in excel. I'm not sure what the movie has to do with it, but whatever floats your boat. 10.6 mph is the next best speed, being only slightly less optimum than 10 mph.

    Optimum PRT Speed

I just did some calculations and I found that the best PRT score-to-effort ratio is obtained at 10 mph. This assumes a 20-25 y/o male and also assumes effort is directly proportional to running speed.

    Navy to Marines transfer

I am mostly asking about the paperwork. At least now I know it might be possible.

    Navy to Marines transfer

I'm a Navy SNA in primary wanting to transfer to the Marines. Does anyone know if this is allowed, and if so, what the process is? I've talked to a few officers but they didn't know much about this.
