Unrelated to my GPA (atleast in the context of me applying for BDCP; this is not a "I have a low GPA bc I go to a hard school" type thing).
With that said... Do you guys feel that they should compare GPAs straight across the board regardless of school?
This came up over Easter weekend...
I met with my recruiter today and commented on my above comment.
He said that 05 opened up some slots and took new applicants (non-BDCP) and I assume moved people forward as well. He said that 06 was still relatively open. He said something to the effect of 05 being closed to BDCP because...
Wow, thats very impressive. I have 20/25 (20/20 with both eyes) and the optomist that I saw told me not to get it done. But i'd really prefer better. Did you put in your application for BDCP before or after the decision to get PRK?
I have had XM for nearly a year... and I am getting to the point where I want to either pay up a couple years so I only have to pay like 9/month (discounted from about 10/month) instead of the new price which is 13/month effective April 2nd. I have had no real complaints with XM, listen to it...
They are right to my knowledge atleast, just the one type. I have my grandfathers with me now (which looks like the ones posted). It also comes with a decoration (ribbon) of the same color pattern.
I was surprised to find out that the government doesnt keep track of all of the DFCs issued. So...
I'd be surprised if 06 was completely full. Because the last time I met with my recruiter 05 had just filled up completely. That was in late Feb.
We didnt discuss 06, but 07 was only 8% full. Granted I imagine that is not accurate anymore, I bet there are still slots for 06.
I am not yet in the program, but my understanding is that once you are in the program you will be paid your BDCP rate until you graduate from school (summer included), and then I believe it goes up? There was a post about that (what happens after graduation, before OCS) recently. Congrats on...
Good luck and as they said, thats a solid package if not for the GPA.
I am in a similiar boat after finishing my first year off with only a 2.9...
But since then I have been much more on point, it seems sooooooo much easier (and faster)to get the GPA to go down, then up. Maybe a math major can...
Did anyone notice that the scores and whether someone got in (link at top of page) seems to make ZERO sense?
Some people with really solid stats didnt get in, and others with #s I would have thought too low got in. Nuts... Kinda proves the point of you really have no idea if you are going to...
After talking to my mom, it seems that odd looking J is actually a polo stick. And was from when he played polo. Not sure what the C, G, and A stand for but that explains what the patch is for. Thanks for looking at the post though.
I know this is a question having to do with USAF (gasp) and isnt really the right place, but I have posted here before and got good answers so I am hoping to keep that going by finding out something.
My grandfather (who I never met) was a USAF pilot from about 1925-1970 or something along...
Awesome... as always thanks for the help. I was confused... but now I am not. I still havent met my actual recruiter. I went in (couple weeks back) and he was sick and then out of town, and now I am back home until the end of the year. So thanks for clearing it all up for me...
*As for the...
I am back at my house (from school on winter break). I am going to go to my previous jobs to get employment info for my app. for comm., epsq, and LORs. I emailed my recruiter about it, but have not heard back yet. Does anyone know what type of things go on the forms (a different recruiter...
Figure some other BDCPers might have similiar questions, so maybe they can use this thread to search it later on.
Doing the address thing for right now, should I use different people for each residence? Like obviously my best friend has known me at each of them, but I also plan to use him as a...
Hmm... Ill ask them when i talk to them next. The guy I spoke to said that everything expires in 6 months from being turned in, and therefore I should wait.
Im going to use the next 6 months to get ready. Plenty of stuff to do. One last question, Ill have like 86 units (90 would be the end of your sophomore year technically) will they not see that as completion of 2 years? I will be taking summer school anyways to pick up 8 units, so at worst it...
I just met with an officer recruiter and he said because I was a non-technical major that I cannot apply until 18 months before my graduation? Any truth to this?
Just looking into the BDCP program, I had one questions about the physical. What are the requirements? I work out about 4-5 times a week, I consider myself to be in pretty good shape but could use some extra lbs.
Figure it might give me something new to train for while im at the gym anyways...
