But the law only applies to:
"all property and interests in property of the following persons, that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of United States persons, are blocked and may not be...
Executive Order: Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq

Has anyone seen this?
I haven't decided what I personally think yet. It definitely seems to weave a fine line around the...
That is Navy policy in the western region - not Marine Corps policy.
(According to an issue of Marine Corps times I read a few months ago)
As for the OP: One thing that might screw you is the fact that you got in trouble for something (which can be overlooked pretty easily), but then you went...
The article is down, maybe someone realized a faux pas?
It really bothers me when I hear people say something along the lines of "you can't use those for hunting." As if the Constitution enabled a right to bear arms only for hunting.
I generally believe that after the founding fathers, who...
My roommate went through a similar situation, applied for scholarship, went to Bootcamp, MCT, MOS School, then got picked up for the scholarship.
He got put into IRR and is, for all intents and purposes, a Midn now.
Here is a good workout plan: Have some jackass suggest running 3.5 miles up a hill (+1000 ft elevation), and of course, the reciprocal 3.5 down it. Then let your ego do the talking.
Be sure to curl up in a ball and cry when you get home, it helps.
Happened in 1999 off the coast of San Diego.
They weren't landing, they were about to practice boarding a ship by fast-roping onto it.
Six Marines and one Sailor died, 11 survived. At least a few made it out through the hellhole because of the fastrope operation.
I believe both the...
I found the answer, it took me less than 3 minutes using Google.
Now I could just tell you, but being as how a young Senior in High School such as yourself can learn a valuable lesson in initiative from this, I won't.
Go forth, and find what you seek on the information superhighway that is the...
Not sure if you are referring to Marine or Navy OCS.
Marine OCS: Don't worry, most people don't have cars. Take a taxi or the OCS shuttle from the airport and taxi's for your liberty during OCS. Shuttle back to the airport after it's all said and done.
Wow, I bet that guy changed a LOT of people's minds with his well thought out, clearly reasoned, and exceptionally long post...pretty soon there won't be any liberals left with that sort of rhetoric floating around the internets...
Don't know anything about military discounts - but I would be pretty wary of any dealership (invariably right next to base) that advertises "We sell to military buyers" or something along those lines.
Those dealerships are basically loan sharks, a lot of Junior E's and saltier people who...
I think the idea is a good one, as long as the bill doesn't get passed. It sheds some light on the situation and puts pressure on military leaders to make these sort of decisions.
I think the idea is terrible, if it is actually passed.
Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron Search and Rescue at MCAS Yuma is pretty much where they send all the coolest Marines, keep that in mind when you select UH-1's.
Sure, you will have to be a senior Captain or a Major before you get there - but when you are cruising 50 feet off the...
Supposedly the Iroquois will go from being our slowest helicopter to our fastest when the Yankee model comes out.
About time, sad sight to see Hueys so loaded up they can't even make it out of the valley at MCAS Pendleton without a few running starts.
It is a pain in the ass, and if you see my other post, I wound up flying back to the states commercially IOT check in on time ($800).
However, when you are talking about flights that ordinarily would cost more than a thousand bucks (to go overseas), a bit of a pain in the ass more than makes up...
Make sure you have enough money to fly back on a commercial flight if Space A can't accommodate you. Me and another guy flew to Japan a few winters ago, then after checking out Tokyo we went and literally hopped on the next flight going anywhere (Singapore as luck had it). Things were pretty...
Send a giant jar full of mayonnaise, and on it write: "I know how much you LOVE mayonnaise."
Also, your cousin probably has a billet, so don't send it to "Candidate X", send it to "Major X".
This is true - but Generals aren't slumming around with Privates or something. For the most part you stick with your pay-grade.
Spelling, grammar, and punctuation go a long way in determining how a question is asked. You suck at all three.
"What percentage of applicants get jets?" is...
It would be pointless to be a Huey driver and dislike having a crew onboard, since just about every mission I can think of requires having someone in the back. Except for the highly-accurate rockets, the crew fires the weapons. The aircrew handle PAX/Medivac/CASEVAC and cargo and provide...
Two problems though:
1. Physical Fitness Tests are (or should be IMHO) designed on the premise that combat is a physically demanding activity and service members should be at some level of physical fitness in order to perform the basic functions required in said combat situation. Physical...
I question the funding required to provide a candidate all the amenities pictured above, when actual combat equipment and combat ready manpower are straining the Marine Corps budget to the point that the V-22 had to be reduced and the EFV placed on hold (among many others).
I am sure other...
At first I thought it was funny, then I was disgusted, then I was angry that the Air Force receives such a huge "slice of the pie" and uses it like that. There are Marines housed in worse conditions than Air Force candidates...
I had to myself after that.
...And a website...
It is British, FA2 or "Shar", not AV-8B Harrier II (American).
Maybe we sell to other countries rather than to our own citizens because maybe there might be a difference between a recognized Government, and a private party. Maybe.
The government does sell surplus civilian aircraft (as...
In Golf Company last summer we didn't use ability groups. Everyone ran by squad and we were led by SI or Plt. Sgt./Plt. Cmdr. We were all supposed to run at a predetermined pace.
Some instructors ran at the pace, others sprinted, then stopped at checkpoints and waited for the clock to catch...
Oh yeah, FWIW my pullups sat at 15-18 for a long time, and I finally got to 20 by just weight lifting. I do seated pulldowns, barbell rows, dumbell rows, hammer pulldowns, and deadlifts for my back, and it helped a lot.
I have a question:
Is the USAF chipping in for all this R&D? The Marine Corps has sunk a LOT of funding into the Osprey, is the Air Force paying their fair share? Or are they just saying, "Oh cool, I'll take what they are having."
This is something I have always wondered about and never asked.
E-Course; 3, 4, and 5 mile timed runs; Every single squad run.
If you get 20 pullups but fall out of squad runs or fail timed runs you will get A LOT of crap coming your way.
If you (like me) got 15-18 pullups or so (didn't get my 20 until after OCS) but get great times on E-Course and...
Wow, thanks for that. Really cool pic's.
Got a crazy mental picture of a room full of Soviet Intel types poring over every one of those pictures with a magnifying glass.
I heard that on the AFSOC model, the refueling arm looking thing out front is actually a 30mm cannon.
They could always put a ball turret on the belly ala the B-17...that would be kickass.
Edit: Sorry, guess it wasn't thick enough, lemme fix it:
/sarcasm
Man, this thread is making me antsy. Magpul PRS stock, Lower Parts Kit, and YHM Rifle Length Freefloat tube all on order.
Re CA: Isn't it the safest state in America now with all the anti-gun laws? I heard that they have almost completely eradicated violent crime. Good on 'em.
North a...
HUMINT is the MOS I would put first if I don't end up trying to do the pilot thing. I was planning on submitting a lat move package to CI if MECEP didn't come through.
On the E side they get to do some pretty cool stuff. Met an E-7 in a foreign Western Asian country where President Bush...
The Art of Institutional Theft has long allowed our over-burdened and under-paid service to stay strong in the face of budgetary adversity.
Maybe if the Navy would stop hoarding all that money for nuke bonuses we wouldn't have to steal your bikes :)
