If it were my car and I was a civilian? I'd sign whatever forms the Navy wanted. Then, I'd ask for a photo op with the aircrew, give them the CATM piece, and ask for a shadow box similar to what the pilot got. And maybe have a beer with them at the OClub.

I'm almost sim complete and really the horsemen aren't that bad. I've been told by a few people it's part of the T-6 transition and also bringing more recent practical experience to the sim.

The issue is that OCS is a filler source for the shortcomings of the Academy and ROTC. Currently we need less officers than we projected for, so OCS selects are slowing down. These sorts of things ebb and flow.

The ship deploys and comes back on it's schedule. Roughly 6 month cruises at a time.

I find it sad everyone just wears the garbage Bates uniforms shoes now, especially the corfams. Ugly, uncomfortable shoes. At least they give us somewhat solid boots now. I just don't get why everyone's footwear must be the same. If it's in regs and in good condition (i.e. good shine)...
