I am just very confused. The fact that he has reviewed my packet and is only now sending it to his processor is somewhat questionable. Whether or not he knows the board dates, he says the only thing holding back is the submission system or whatever it is. I feel like I am being misled now and I don't like that. My packet has been "complete" since the end of May.
My recruiter was pitching that the next 'likely' board date would be October long after Rufio posted August 24th. When I pinged him about it he apparently was able to dig up an email that did say 24th.
Frankly I don't know how much communication they get, whether things simply slip past them amid a deluge of paper, but I understand your frustration. We're closing in rapidly on the two year mark for me since I first started chasing this. I've gone through three recruiters and had a dozen hiccups along the way. All I can recommend is using the resources here, and being on top of things. If I'd been paying more attention to what was posted here, doing my due dilligance and trusting less in what a recruiter a month into the job was telling me, I might have already shipped.
Ride your recruiter as best you can without stepping over the line into disrespect. Be the guy with an email waiting in his inbox in the morning. Be willing to call him. Make it impossible to ignore you, and make your enthusiasm clear if it isn't already. Be positive and upbeat. Don't make it an accusation. You have a good GPA and a reasonable OAR judging by the crowd here. Unless you have something else held against you that you aren't disclosing here (lots of wavers, background, etc) I don't see why a recruiter would be unwilling to submit you. I know in my case many of my struggles came less from recruiter malfeasance, and more from the fact that I ended up at the end with a guy new on the job.
On a less serious note (for everyone else), who knew every day in July had like 120 hours to it? This has felt like the longest month of all time.
