Navy Pilot/ NFO "Rolling" Boards MAR/APR 2013

Ever since I met two prior service helo guys in 05, while cranking in the ward room hating life in the Gulf, I knew it could be done and I knew I was going to. So pumped. Congratulations to everyone again
I feel you man. I got sent cranking twice on the USS Abraham Lincoln. The first time I cranked was legit, I ended up cleaning the CPO's berthing and heads, it was cake. Second time I cranked was in the CPO galley and that blew!

Any word if another board is convening between now and July?
My processor and OR urged that boards were supposed to run monthly. Since NavySquid26 mentioned that the last board supposedly took place a few weeks ago, monthly boards could be true. I think that you have a decent chance that another one will occur before July.

If it makes anyone feel better I didn't get selected SNA with a 56 7/7/7 but I got my first choice if NFO. Although I was told my age was likely the reason I didn't get picked for SNA. I wouldn't get to OCS by 29. My recruiter said SWO results should come back next week as well. I have a feeling that with a 90+ selection rate only people like myself (age limit) got turned down making it less than 100%.

Well, prior to the last two boards, I was under the impression that one pretty much needs 7's or they'd have a low probability of getting picked up for SNA/SNFO.. But it seems like they're being a little bit less stringent in selection right now?

Normally the lowest score you'd see is 6s mixed with a 7 with either a great GPA and Major or some ridiculous LORs. From my understanding the Navy right now is below their FY13 OCS (SNA/SNFO) quota so they are really lightening up on scores until these spots are filled. The higher standards will no doubt return.. So those that applied within the last two boards got really lucky with their application's timing

Between the information on Airwarriors and that sweet Texas NRC site, that sounds pretty accurate. Now if only these conditions can just hold steady until July, I will be the most happiest of campers! :)

If they get enough kits before the the July board, they're supposed to hold another board. That is the latest rumor from my recruiter at least. Since it sounds like they had a hard time getting enough kits for this board my hopes aren't going to be very high. In the end that shouldn't matter too much, July is just around the corner.

Your right but the last board was delayed a week because they didn't have enough kits to justify holding a board. I'm just saying it does take time to accumulate enough kits.
Who knows though, I'm sure a fair amount of recruiters were pushing for this board as best they could but just barely missed it. Anything is still possible.

I guess their isn't much sense in speculating, all these things are out of our control.

Does anyone know how many kits "justifies" having a board?

My recruiter rarely works Fridays but my kit got bounced back at least once since originally submitted, pretty sure I missed this board as well. I'm just sticking with feeling good that I put together the best application I could and if it's competitive now it'll be competitive later. Like you said Bleedgreen, it's all out of our control.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to everyone that has gotten good news so far and best wishes to everyone else still waiting!

Ok everyone , I just heard back from my OR (yes on a saturday, hes the man lol) and as i suspected the board was held weeks ago and the official results came out thursday. He also confirmed that the selection rate was upwards of 90% for both SNA and SNFO. Congrats to those who made it for that board!
You said "Weeks ago", do you know when? do you have a rough estimate on the dates?? My OR says my package is under review and in the system, do you happen to know what that means?
