Applying to Jan board 2013

To answer the earlier post, I still haven't gotten my FS letter yet, but I'm not expecting to until I get rid of this damned spare tire and get back to MEPS. My recruiter tells me that there is either a 60-day or 90-day time limit for me to do so. Looks like I'll be practically living at the Y until I get this weight off

Now that you mention it, it's possible my own FS letter is being held up due to an annoying snag in my submission. My recruiter says he needs to receive my final transcripts/proof of graduation, but my college isn't issuing that stuff for another month (it takes them ages to process). I was finally able to convince them to at least send a letter confirming I did meet the graduation requirements but that the degree would take some time to award. Perhaps that's why I haven't received my FS yet.

Quick question: I don't suppose there is any other venue of finding out a date or if the letter has even been generated except for our OR to contact us directly, is there?

My OR called me and said I'd be going Feb 17th on the 3rd, and emailed me the FS letter today. He at one point forwarded me an email chain and someone said something about seeing me on a January list at first. So there is something out there, but I think my OR went out of his way for me because of my semester based work situation and because this is all before the start date listed on my application.

My exact feeling. Just to know would be a huge weight off my shoulders.

I'm NRD Richmond and I have not received an OCS date either. I was told last week that all my papers have been processed; just waiting on my background check. I don't really know what that means or what time table to expect. Hopefully soon!

I wouldn't be shocked if you guys wound up in the 17 Feb class. Using AW as a sample, it seems that there aren't that many people in the class yet.

Talked to my OR this past Friday, he said we're still in what would be considered a normal period of waiting for the FS letter to come through. He said he's very confident the rest of the pro-rec's from December will be in the Feb 17th class. Like many have said though, it's not concrete until the paper is in hand... as i've found out with the Jan 6th and 27th classes, haha. I'm guessing all is well though because he's setting up my swearing-in ceremony and getting back to me on the date today or tomorrow.

Spoke to my OR early last week. He said to prepare to ship for the 02/17 class based upon how quickly others had received FS letters. Nothing confirmed though. During the same conversation I was told four weeks prior to the class date is typically when FS letters come out which would be this Thursday.... Fingers crossed

My recruiter thinks I'll be in the March 10 board. I haven't received my FS letter yet, which might be because my university hasn't finished processing people's graduation requirements (so the Navy likely doesn't see that I've graduated). I also listed March as my earliest available date to work around a Rome trip with the lady in February, so there's that.

Keep in mind that availability matters, so some people won't be ok to go until then. Plus there are others who still haven't gone to MEPS, etc.

NRD Richmond seems to take their time passing their info along to the ORs. As you know, we didn't get our pro-recs until the day or two after everyone else had. My FS letter was drafted 26DEC12, and they didn't get it to me for a week and a half. I understand that the NRDs had their holiday stand downs and whatnot. That's probably where a lot of the delay lies.

I'm curious to know this too. My OR told me today that SWO has closed up after selection at the Dec. boards. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but it sounds like they got a lot of their selection out of the way for the rest of the year with this Dec. board. It seems like they've shoved a lot of people right into the 27 Jan and 17 Feb classes. Then again, they did selected A LOT of people back in Dec., and people from the July boards were still waiting to ship too.
