NAS Whiting field vs NAS Corpus Christi

Friends who married Pensacola girls are more likely to be married still than guys who met their wives in Corpus
And that's a good thing????? (Asks the happily divorced guy with no intentions of ever putting 50% or more of his assets at risk again.)

I don't know a single guy I went through school with that ever had a marriage to a corpus girl not end badly. The Pensacola guys on average either stayed together, or split on less bad terms.

Maybe the word got out. I don't know anyone that met their wife in Corpus.

Glad I met my wife in San Antonio, next month will be our 20th anniversary. :) It keeps getting better each and every year.

Winged Aviators and SNA's currently in Primary please give your $0.02 about the main differences in location for Primary, where you would prefer to attend Primary Flight Training @ either NAS Whiting field or NAS Corpus Christi in terms of housing, training (flight time), night life, etc. for a single male.

Please try to keep the thread from the inevitable turn to "It doesn't matter where you go, your there to learn your craft, this isn't what you should be worried about, and you don't have much say in where you end up." I feel that everyone for the most part understands the latter and this thread is intended for positive conversations about your past (or present) experiences and opinions on the two training locations.

Thanks! :)

So first off you're screen name is Maverick so thats already awesome.

Secondly, as has already been pointed out, a search could have helped. I know I have responded in threads that have outlined exactly the differences between Corpus and Whiting, so they exist for sure.

Thirdly, you are asking for 'help' from winged aviators, many of whom are likely to be your instructors, yet dictating to THEM the terms of this thread.

Lots wrong with the way you went about all of this.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa...Statesman, there are flight school instructors on this forum?

If it were me, all other things being equal, I would avoid CC because Whiting is fully transitioned to the T-6. The transition process is an ass pain you wouldn't have to deal with.

If it were me, all other things being equal, I would avoid Whiting because of the T-6. ;)

If you are going to be starting primary in the September '13 timeframe, please come to VT-6. There will be pain and suffering aplenty to be had... Whoops, I meant to say there will be free punch and pie. Yeah... punch and pie

Someone got bitter in OK. Way to forget about the struggle and become "the man"

My take is that it depends mostly on the company you keep. When I was a student, I had more fun in Corpus (T-44s/T-45s) than I did in Pensacola (T-34s). When I was an instructor, and still single, I would spend many a Friday night staying in with fellow IPs playing Call of Duty rather than going out to any of the bars. It just wasn't worth it in that demographic for that age.

The moral of this story is to fly CODs and live in San Diego. The demographics are just right for any age. :)

Jesus Christ, my eyes can't roll hard enough.

OP, listen to your gut. I bet if you study a little and aren't a douche you'll get winged and have fun wherever you go.
