Don't spin the 45. It don't like the upright spin, and turns it into an inverted spin IIRC.
I did a surprising amount of dumb shit in that jet, but I never spun it. Did scare the hell out of myself on a solo once though, and thought it was going to spin.

You intentionally put the T-34 and soon to be T-6 into a spin and recover. However, the 34 and 6 recover very easy from a spin. There have been mishaps but look at the number of spins we do compared to the losses. Spins always get hyped up for spins and once they do them, they find out not all that bad. Now a spin like that one in the 45, would suck.
^Agree with bunk. I was super scared the first time I spun the T-6. After the first time and I saw that as long as you follow the procedures, you'll be fine, I was good with it. Even as a SNFO with all of 2 hours in the front of a T-6, I found that the recovery was simple. Yes, its a need to know item b/c there lies the possibility of spinning during dynamic flight, but from a student perspective, I think its more of a confidence builder.

I was scared as an IP coming back through the FITU. I flew COD's for so long, I didn't know what greater than 60 degrees angle of bank felt like. My FITU IP had said I was literally yelling the recovery steps...didn't need the ICS. Now being upside down, spinning, heh, whatever. Normal stuff.

wasn't prepared for it nor was it supposed to happen on our flight, I just brought up the subject and my instructor was like "oh, you've never been in a spin before... my flight controls"
so we did it, non-event
then he said "your turn

Anyways.. watching this video gives me a new take on the word "spin"..

Is he talking about a parachute on the back of plane? I initially thought he might be referring to the chute strapped to his body, but now I'm not so sure seeing as how he didn't eject.
