June 08 Selection

Has anybody received their final select letter yet from the June boards? My recruiter said today that they might be taking a little longer due to the holiday and that he expects to receive something by Wednesday...if not, he'll call and see what the hold up is. He also mentioned that I'd need to pass another PRT before leaving for OCS. What's passing?...Good Low, Med, High...Excellent Low?

I pro-rec'd 16 May and just got mine in the mail today. Granted, I heard about it from the OR and have already sworn in, etc., but the actual letter may take some time.

Good-Low in each category is passing for the PRTs you take prior to OCS. Sat-Med in each category is passing for the In-PRT at OCS. The idea behind this is that your performance will drop at the in-PRT due to stress, fatigue, hunger, whatever, and that command was unhappy with the number of people rolling into H from failure of the In-PRT.

At least this is what I am told.

My OR said Good Low, which in my age category (25-29) is 44 pu; 54 cu; 12:53 run.

If you're 20-24, add a few to everything.

OR just called. Final select sna. I report to OCS on 22 FEB 09!

Congrats! When did you request to start? If I don't get in until Feb 09, I'm in trouble. My 27th b-day is in April. Will they account for this (hopefully) when assigning my class date?

I haven't received my letter yet but the OR just sent an e-mail that said to expect to report October 18th. I'm hoping I can work out an earlier date than that...hopefully mid-September would be nice. Early September might have me graduating just before Christmas if I could avoid getting rolled.

I should do fine on the PRT. I'm in the 25-29 bracket and am at about Good-high, Excellent-low on everything but the run which is at Good-med to Good-high.

According to the Navy, you must receive your commission by your birthday (of the appropriate age limit).

From what I can tell, that means you must graduate by your 27 birthday.

BUT, my recruiter has told me that you just need to start OCS before your birthday.

Can anyone clarify this?

I put my date as 01 FEB 09. I'm going to Europe after I graduate in December so I wanted a little time.

Final Select SNFO, not sure about my date, I'm hoping to go in January, I want out of Fresno as soon as i graduate

If he's right, you'll be classing up with me. I'm about the same on the PRT but in my bracket (I'm 23). Definitely keep us posted, trying to get to know as many in our class as possible before we get to hell.

Hell should be getting close to freezing over right about then which means I'll have a chance at graduating when it does!!

Hey man, I thought having a shot at OCS would mean hell freezing over - much less pro-rec-ing SNA. 'Never know what could happen just give it your best shot. The other guys I know of so far in the 19 Oct class seem pretty motivated as well, so hopefully we can rely on eachother to get through the suck.
