Thanks for info but for some of the specifics like overseas long tour ribbon, AF achievement medal and NCO PME grad I'm still unsure of. Any regs on the non-combat ribbons and medals? I'm assuming the GWOTE, Armed Forces Expeditionary and Air Force Expeditionary medals are authorized.

Here's the link for authorized awards as well other service awards not authorized for wear on the Navy uniform. Those not authorized are listed on the last two pages, to include the NCO PME.

I wore my EAWS all the way until my winging. My wife pulled the silver wings off and replaced them with my gold ones. Even if you didn't wear your enlisted device on your name tag I would probably figure it out when talking to.

As it has already been said you can not wear Pilot/NFO wings with the EAWS.

I'd like to hear some comments regarding priors wearing their ribbons and E-warfare pins in the pipeline. I'm definitely proud of what I've earned in my time, but don't want to be looked at as "that guy" when I too will just be another student.

The whole reason I bring this up is because I have run into a few guys that really take it personal when somebody of lower rank has more"chest candy", and with that in mind what about a prior who has been awarded an Air Medal (meritoriously)?...... (not me, another OC)

As far as name tags, I've already decided that my silver dolphins will not be added, but when in Khaki, Whites, etc, I plan on putting them right where they were pinned until I EARN those coveted wings of gold.

thoughts?
As an ex-ET2(SS), NAVCAD, & Naval Aviator for 22 years, I always wore my Dolphins proudly, as I did with my Wings. I never received any negative feedback, on the contrary, all reactions I ever received were complimentary. I agree that they don't belong on a flight suit/jacket though, that would be "showboating" IMHO, your squadronmates will already know what you have accomplished. Now go out there & do us "bubbleheads" proud!

+1 for figuring that out so early! You have a bright future, young Padawan.

Incidentally, you can get away with wearing whatever meaningless AF Perfect Attendance and Trying Your Best ribbons you happen to rate. No one in the Navy will know what the hell they are anyway.

Or better yet, wear the authorized ones and ditch the others. So that way, when someone asks you what they are for, you have decent stories and don't get laughed at. :icon_tong

I was told by my MOI not to wear my FMF pin. Something about not deploying, he didn't think I earned it or something.

As long as it is in your service record that you were awarded the insignia per OPNAV Instruction 1414.4B, then I don't see how what he thinks really matters.

When I finished my PQS, I was authorized to wear it at my old command, but it was never officially awarded to me. I'm going to have to go back and make sure it was properly entered now.
