Try SheiKra at Busch Gardens Tampa. Best coaster ever. As for coasters vs. flying...flying's better, but I still stand in line to ride a coaster! Just something about it!

Sweep the leg..
I hear Cedar Point in OH has some amazing coasters...
with 3 of the highest/fastest in the country.

My buddy praises that place often.

As for Busch Garden coasters...I enjoy Apollo's Chariot. :D

Yup, if you can ever get up to Cedar Point, you won't regret the experience. Consistently rated one of, if not the top, parks in the world. Loved it.

I'll second that. Cedar Point is excellent, although the lines can be a bit long. It would definitely be worth paying a few extra dollars for those straight to the front passes.

Ceder Point is to Roller Coaster Gurus what Mecca is to Muslims. Every roller coaster enthusiast of able body is pretty much required to journey there at least once in their lives. It is simply awesome and whatever your taste in Roller Coasters is they have at least 2 that will knock your socks off.

ABSOLUTELY. The last time I went to Busch Gardens me and my friends were the last four people in line so we had the entire train to ourselves, front row, pitch black outside, none of us are really big screamers so it was pretty much silent. THAT was an amazing experience.

My husband is carrier-based and last weekend we were at Kings Dominion in VA and went on the Hypersonic Xtreme Launch Coaster. It is 0-80 in 1.3 seconds (it is the only compressed air coaster in the US). He said the acceleration feel (obviously in reality on a carrier he is being shot with more force and gaining speed at a greater rate) was much more than any cat-shot he has ever gotten. Plus, the coaster also goes nearly straight up after accelerating. Definately a good time :). Here is a pic:

Wow...that looks awesome !

Ditto on Cedar Point. Their "Top Thrill Dragster" coaster held the height record from like '04-'06. I rode it in '04 and the two-hour wait was well worth it.

0-120 in 4 seconds is incredible.

Cedar Point also has the most roller coasters in the world, so if you're ever in Ohio, definitely stop there.

I'm guessing that Cedar Point is probably the only worthwhile reason to go there?

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, National Football Hall of Fame, The Game, Air Force museum (if your into that sorta thing). Ohio is a decent state overall so long as your close to a major city. Outside of that its just like any other state, with the exception of the total suck that is Louisiana, Arkansas, or Mississippi.

If it meant seeing these guys in person, yeah I'd be into that kind of thing

It takes 1.8 seconds to reach 80;
also, the ride only lasts ~ 20 seconds.

Sweet ride though, but not worth the 2 hr wait in line. :sleep_125

Just got to this thread, but I thought I'd mention that I have to wait about an hour for a ride that lasts less than 3 seconds. What's up with that?!

what percent of RL officers get jets?
Six Flags Magic Mountain in Southern California has to be the best rollercoaster park in the country. It almost shut down this year because real estate investors wanted to buy the land, but luckily, it got bought out by someone who wants to keep it a theme park.
