I will excel in the program, I will need to pull high G's, and according to the the numbers on the previous page, an F/A-18 will fit on me like a glove.

I can't tell if you're joking or serious, so in case you're serious, here's some of the latest info straight from the pipeline...

Right now, it doesn't matter how well you excel. As several forum members already know, you can be number one in both your wing and overall for CNATRA and still not get jets/your first choice. That's just how the numbers are working right now. And in case you've missed it here, it's all about the numbers for the services, not how much you want something.

I hope you're successful and make your goals, but just be ready for the fact that your goals and the Navy/Marine Corps goals may not be in line.

Big words for a guy who is shorter than most girls. If you can't reach the pedals, can't fly aircraft. Maybe another line of work would be better for you, like a jockey or circus freak.

This line of work will be just fine for me. I know it doesn't matter how much I want it, but just because my chances are slim doesn't mean I shouldn't give it my best shot.

I'm really not trying to beat you down, go for your dreams, most definitely. But I just hope you realize and are okay w/ NOT getting a jet slot. There are plenty of guys here who had "that guy" go through Primary w/ them who didn't get jets, and therefore was just a pain in the ass to work and study with. PLEASE don't be that guy. No one cares what you "should" have got.

That said, there's another, less frequent (now) forum member and Marine SNA who got jets and also worked as a Toyota mech. He also happened to be my on-wing. So I guess we almost have a trend...

OK. Without devolving into the "what is 0 G" type disussion, butt-to-knee length and butt-to-top-of-head distance are irrespective of where your hips are.

Let's say that person A is 50%legs and 50% torso/head. If that persons legs reach the pedals and its head fits under the canopy, it fits.

If person B is 90% legs and 10% head/torso, and all of the same criteria are met, then they fit too. Granted, this would be a weird looking person, but they measure all of your different parts individually. It's not just about height.

Anything that you "saved" in butt-to-knee length because of leg/torso ratio you would "lose" in sitting height. Either way, it doesn't matter if you are male of female.

I think that whoever said that it was about recruiting numbers and opening up the size of the female applicant pool makes more sense.
Fair enough.

My guess is she's no longer around. Looks like this was from 2006.

Side note: I was just measured a couple days ago down in Pensacola. I'm 6'2", some of the other candidates were saying that anything over 6' disqualifies you from jets. Any truth to that? Not that it makes a difference, I'm just curious.

HA! Didn't notice that small fact.........;)

As for being over 6' disqualifying you from jets, that is not the case. It is based on you anthro measurements and they will tell you if you are limited to certain platforms. But when I flew in Prowlers there were plenty of guys, Pilots and NFO's, who were over 6 feet tall. Same with Hornet guys too.

I'm 6'4". There are guys even taller than me that fly jets, too. Your friend is full of shit.

You have to have blonde hair, blue or green eyes and be no taller than 5'10" to get jets  Is NAMI checking for common sense in their physicals now days??
