Any update on this?

FY2027 board schedule is posted but there's nothing on it related to SNA/SNFO boards. There's only a single entry right now so I'm assuming they're still populating it.

This. You’ll probably need some fixed wing time but some airlines have rotary transition programs to bridge that gap into the 121 world

You should have the opportunity to get quite a bit of fixed wing time dependent on some of your tours as a rotary pilot, especially if you swing back to Pensacola or Corpus as a T-6 IP.

I heard p-8’s are really competitive right now just because of that commercial rating. Like fighter competitive.

Welp recruiter just texted saying he got word the pilot boards are closed the rest of FY27, so one admin error pushed me out another year.

I'll take that type rating any day. P8's are the best platform in terms of return of benefit. twice or even three times as many flight hours, multi time. doesn't get better than that.

Not sure where you heard the 2-3x flight hour thing. More than half of P8 bubbas don’t fly on their shore tour which means many only fly for 3/8 of their pilot contract years. If you want flight hours go E2s

P-8’s are competitive bc they’ve got arguably the best QOL out of any community

We don’t get the type rating bc it’s not listed as an equivalent to the civilian 737. You can read more here:
