Cool, fingers crossed. I just wanted to see if anyone here got NPQed from that before or knew of someone that did. I couldnt find anything about it on this site.It sounds like the eye doctor answered your question.

Update on this:Yes I followed up.
He told me he asked the processor to send an email.
He can see that my packet is in a queue.
He is just saying "this is an appeal it can take longer"
ITs been 2 months at this point he has no answer for me how more it could take.
Pretty confused, would love some insight.
Looking to submit my NFO packet soon, but my recruiter heard back from MEPS that I was denied for 20/30 vision. I know that 20/40 correctable to 20/20 is the limit, but has anyone had experience on getting the actual correction? My recruiter is going to check in and get back to me on how we proceed. I’ve set an optometrist appointment to get a pair of glasses in the meantime. Would it be as simple as resubmitting a vision test with 20/20 scores? I’ve never needed glasses in my life, so what would dictate when I have to wear them? Thanks in advance
I haven’t submitted my packet yet, just got the notice from MEPS. I have ISEL scores on the ASTB for NFO so that’s what I’m gonna submitWere you denied for Pilot and/or NFO? You can always get a new eye exam and attempt to submit those scores - uncertain if Navy Recruiting will accept those.

I see. I'm not sure, my recruiter called me to inform me this morning but I haven't seen the actual letter. Just basing this off the information he told me over the phoneYes I’m tracking not applying. I’m asking if your medical letter says you’re not eligible for Pilot, NFO, or both?
Maybe his eyes weren't correctable to 20/20?Yes I’m tracking not applying. I’m asking if your medical letter says you’re not eligible for Pilot, NFO, or both?
Update on this: My recruiter told me I was disqualified for pilot and NFO. So went to optometrist who told me I was actually 20/20 in my right eye and 20/25 in my left. Got a prescription and sent all the paperwork including diagnosis back, and was cleared pretty easily!Maybe his eyes weren't correctable to 20/20?
Piggie backing off this. Got denied for Pilot but I genuinely believe im better than 20/40 post PRK surgery. Can I get another evaluation from my ophthalmologist or am SOL.Were you denied for Pilot and/or NFO? Might have to do this as I was disqualified for pilot View attachment 44121Update on this: My recruiter told me I was disqualified for pilot and NFO. Yeah if I were you I would just book an appointment with an optometrist now. I didn’t even need my glasses, I just sent in my check up report and prescription and that was what they needed. I’m only going for NFO though so may be differentMight have to do this as I was disqualified for pilot View attachment 44121
Edit: i posted it twice instead of just adding you to the previous convo.
What exactly did you ask, do, and get when you did your optometrist/ophthalmologist visit? Im going tomorrow in the AM. I dont use glasses and i believe im like 20/25 post PRK.Yeah if I were you I would just book an appointment with an optometrist now. I was just super honest. I said that I’m trying to join the Navy and work in aviation, but the medical examiners told me I have 20/30 vision and I needed it corrected. After they did all of their tests and gave me a prescription I received all of their documentation which had all of the medical information that I nor you would understand. And I believe it was more in depth than what MEPS had done. So that’s what I sent in which cleared me.What exactly did you ask, do, and get when you did your optometrist/ophthalmologist visit? It does not help that my recruiter is gone for vacation after posting this on me.
