It was standard policy for us to give the applicant a copy of their scores.
Congrats! I took mine this Tuesday and got 63 9/9/8, applying for SNA to the April board as well.
I've also been studying since August (more or less) but have a lot of flight sim hours (I would say around 200 but it's hard to say exactly) so that combined with the Joystick and Throttle sim posted on this forum I think that helped tremendously with the PBM. Funny enough, I thought I fumbled on the listening portion because I'm certain I misclicked 3-4 times for even/odd numbers in the target ear, but maybe the targeting made up for it, I don't know.
I didn't buy any books, I only studied the ANIT Cram flashcards, whatever topics for math and physics I did my best to study (except matrices which I got one question on) and I bought the Alex Hastings app 3 days before my test just to add a bit of diversity. While it did help me to identify some of my weaknesses, I noticed there was a surprising amount of questions marked incorrectly (I triple checked with STEM friends to be sure, don't want to make false accusations). That being said, the TI portion of my test was definitely much easier thanks to the app.
Anyways, I want to give major credit to everyone posting on this forum. The Kyle and Gomez drives were everything I needed to be prepared, and I had some friends that I also owe credit too since they helped me out tremendously, especially for physics (I never got to study simple mech).

Honestly similar to the app. I was scoring 19/20 on the app and felt the test was similar although it doesn’t give you four options like the app does. Instead, you get a compass rose with 30° increments and have to choose from that.

I found the test much easier than the app actually. If you are scoring 18/20 averages on the app you should be gold.

I don’t really have any, I practiced it about 3 times because like the UAV it clicked in my head about which orientation is where. If anything, I suppose you could open Maps on iPhone and have the map oriented to where your phone is pointing. After that, rotate the phone and get used to how the map will rotate in regards to your heading.
You gotta nail down some sort of method, I do have one if you are interested. I have helped out two other guys on here, one seemed to get it through simple explanation, the other one we did a video call. Kinda depends on how you learn.

I am 18 and a freshman in college and just took my first ASTB, I completely bombed with a 47, 4-5-4. (Had a 4.2 in High School but struggle with taking long tests)
I just found out about this website after taking the test and am wondering what the best materials to study would be. I have heard a lot of people talk about an app and am wondering what this app is called.
I used an online study guide I found off of google and that did jack shit for me so if there is a better one that someone can link to me that would be awesome.
I was also wondering if there was a way to study for the arial viewing section as I found that to be pretty difficult.
I think Im going to give it a few months of consistent studying before I try to retake it as studying for my Kinesiology major and ASTB at the same time is a lot of work.
Lastly any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all, it's been two years since i took the ASTB for the first time. Scored a 53 6/6/7. Planning on studying and retaking, is the test still the same, I've seen a few posts about some "Terrain Section" can anyone explain that to me? Additionally I just got my PPL, just curious if anyone has knowledge/thinks that makes a difference at all.
