That sounds like living the dream man! THAT is the kind of life I'm looking to seek as a VP NFO. The only duty stations are Whidbey, Jax, and Sig, right?
For sea duty it's just jax and whidbey. But shore duty is literally all over the world depending on what you want to do and where you want to go

I want to go to every country in the world, so I think the VP life is more aligned with my goals. I like long flights too, so I think that'll help somewhat.

Guys, you can go ahead and get fighters. I'll stay here and get Maritime patrol.

OK now I'm convinced as well. Can you do pushups on the p-8 when you're taking a break? We get breaks. Right?

Yes and yes haha. During a mission your working but on transit your usually not. But as an NFO you'll be the TACCO so you'll have a lot of reports and things to write during the return transit and system setup stuff on the transit to your oparea. ASW is extremely fun when you get to do it. I've flown on some cool missions overland Iraq and on a decent amount of subs and I've enjoyed all of it. Hence why I'm trying to basically start over again. Plus perdiem is pretty nice to in certain places.

If I get selected - save as much money as I possibly can by working. A month and a half before OCS I'll tell my boss "oh shit, I'm joining the Navy!" Then he'll say "good for you" and I'll travel the country before handing my life over to the Navy.
same my Swiss friends said I can come stay with them in Europe so If anyone wants to travel Europe for a month or 2...

Dude. Switzerland is a gorgeous little country. I'm a city guy, so it was amazing to see the Alps, and the wide-open spaces over there. Germany is a really cool country to check out too!

trying to secure an engineering job after I graduate, if not move back in with my parents which I'd prefer not to
lol staying at my moms right now has saved me more money than I could even fathom to be able to save if I was living on my own. Haha not saying it’s great all the time. But I will say there are moments I’m like I’m glad her and I get to spend time together. Especially since I was gone and didn’t see my family for two years during my masters.
