We did miss the boat. We bet the farm on Astra, which was cheap and made here. We had token buys with options with other brands. When Pfizer asked us to place a larger order, we said no. The gov was saying it's not a race to get vaccinated and the local manufacturing would get us done by Sept. Then it was found that Astra had a 1 per Million death from clotting. No one wanted it. We asked Pfizer, but order books were full till the last quarter. So this is where we are. With the wave in Sydney, they are now taking the Astra, but there is still a surplus of it.

@Treetop Flyer So it is alright, to limit your freedoms by a curfew. As long as you agree with it.
Comparing an emergency order lasting days to counter civil unrest to a host of restrictions lasting approaching two years to counter a respiratory virus with a greater than 99% survival rate is too stupid to accurately describe without getting my post deleted.

Our vaccine uptake peaked at 3,000,000 in a day, dropped to 300,000/day or so, then hopped back up to 1,000,000 per day when the virus surged again and started filling hospitals.

You just need to up your death toll, and a one in a million clot rate won’t seem so bad. Maybe pick some small burb in the outback and let it rampage through. That’ll focus people’s attention.

So it is ok to restrict freedoms for a potential property theft. Restrictions to save lives is wrong.
Our lockdown in Nov last year was 6 days Then we had a June this year lockdown, lasted 7days. So since April 2020, for over 12 months we have been locked down for 13 days. In total. 4 covid deaths.

I think that is the secret, we need more dead people. Even injecting and swallowing bleach, shining light up rectums, fishtank cleaner and horse wormer starts to look good. If the death toll is high enough.

Go back to your hole. NSW has been in lockdown since June and it just got extended. You can't leave the country or freely return, even as an Aussie passport holder.

Enjoy your police state. I would have probably visited Oz pre-Covid, but after watching your tyrannical government abuse its citizens, I won't spend my money there. I can't be the only one.

They are saying NSW won't be coming out of lockdown, till the vaccination rate is high. They messed around and it got out of control. Victoria may go the same way. Several states have been able to eliminate Delta outbreaks for the time being. Long term and what was and is the plan. It is the vaccine.

I’d hate to think Dr. Fauci has moved the goalposts again...
At what point does he lose his medical license for intentionally lying and giving knowingly wrong medical advice to the entire American populace about whether masks work or not? Even if he lied and gave bad medical advice to “save the masks for the people who need them,” I’m pretty sure there’s a medical oath somewhere that people care about doctors adhering to…

First I have seen where natural immunity is counted with vaccines numbers. So, 83.3% of the population has some sort of immunity that will protect from infection or at least reduce hospital stays to less than 1% of breakthrough cases. And still we are at General Quarters.

Probably when the blue block on the right goes toward zero at hospitals.
That will never happen. Hasn't happened with the flu. And that is the problem. The bar is set too high. If we stay on this course, the marginal costs to reduce those last few hospitalizations will be insane.

You tell me, it's 100% up to you and your fellow unvaccinated.
So everyone who is against vaccine mandates is unvaccinated? Maybe we can ask the mods to put a little banner on everyone’s profile indicating their vaccine status. Is that what you’re after?

Also, come you won’t answer my question? You know how to Twitter. Tell him what’s up.

I think there’s momentum towards “counting” previous infection as being “immune”. I think when cooler heads prevail and objectivity (hopefully) is once again the name of the game that influential people will realize what a mistake they made in discounting previous infection.

My point is that our very own CDC indicates we’ve reached the benchmark made by this administration’s top covid advisor. So...where is he on this? Other than, of course, coming up with new “goals” that we’re never going to meet.
