The 6139?

Interesting, given most of Seiko's stuff was exclusively auto at that time I think (such as the 6105, 7005, 7002, etc). I will defer to @mad dog for confirmation on that though.

Of note, the 6139 was the first automatic chronograph in space.

No you won’t…I don’t know jack shit regarding Seikos.

What I do know [regarding Seikos] is that I’m wearing my beloved 1986 6309-7049 automatic for the second day in a row…and it survived last night’s Dad Skate Squad club ride…AND I was able to set the correct day…

It is a 6139. Also the first automatic accurate enough to be a chronograph.

The two terms, “chronometer” and “chronograph”, are not the same.

Basically, the term “chronometer” refers to the accuracy of time keeping ability and is a certification that is issued...for example, the COSC certification. The term “chronograph” refers to a complication [or function]…a chronograph is basically a watch that has a stop watch function.

My addition to the perfect 4 watch collection-GMT, dive, chrono, and beater bases well covered. The 3 nice ones will go to my 3 kids someday. 41mm Sub is perfection btw. Fortunate enough to get hooked up with an AD. Say what you will about Rolex but this machine nears perfection. SKX just keeps going after years. Bremont has some class and then, Speedy of course.32257

Golly gee whiz…it took a whole 26 minutes and 48 seconds to get sand kicked in my face at the gym…probably because I was wearing Levi’s 511 “stretchy pants” and Clarks Wallabees…AND probably because I was [in the process of] doing 1 set of 100,000 reps with 3 lb. dumbbells. For the record, the 26 minutes and 48 seconds was perfectly timed by my circa early 1950s U.S. issued Breitling navigation mil watch…
