Thank you for creating this board for the August crew man. I started the May thread that turned legendary back in the spring and then never even got my package to the board. Was very disconcerting but it really does feel like those few months time in between boards really flew by. I’ll keep my fingers that you and the others in your situation still find a way to squeeze into this one, you never know what might happen ?
Thanks man. I had a feeling this would happen. Literally been working on this thing for a year. One thing after another when dealing with active duty folks. But hey got it complete and just a matter of time now. Best of luck to you. Its like watching your kids be great seeing who makes it lol.

Does anybody know at which point the flight physicals will occur and any waivers will be given? Would that happen at newport?

My buddy is in advanced right now about to get his wings and he said some of the dudes in his class got the full NAMI in OCS and some of them got it in Pensacola. I’m not sure how uniform that whole process is for every individual candidate because the full flight physical is supposed include things like a chest X-ray and the like and he said that never even happened.

Anyone else irrationally afraid of getting the NAMI Whammy?
I did get lasik but luckily I have an army flight physical that's in the AERO system so hopefully when It comes time for NAMI, they'll look at my previous physical and let me through. My advice is that if you're worried about your vision/hearing, go get tested at a clinic to see where you stand. Make sure you bring the pilot medical requirements to the doctor you're seeing to see if you're within range. I did that about a year ago and learned that I needed Lasik in my right eye to get above the minimum vision requirement.

Well I just got off the phone with Mr. Celestin (NRC). If your name isn't on the AT-Board list, you are fucked for this board. He confirmed that they reached the quota for applications. If you didn't make the cut, then your application is being forwarded to the next board with is November. I will be starting the forum for that. But hey, ya never know, it is possible to not make the at board list and still somehow pro-rec Y. Best of luck to you all. HAPPY WAITING.
remember "quota" is a very loose term as most of the boards have exceeded that so far.

Yes. I'm hoping somehow I make it to the board but looking more towards being pushed. So would they take more applications if they have "spots" open up assuming the at board list is all they are starting out with?

Also remember fellas, laser eye surgery is not a disqualifier for aviation. You only need a waiver if your eyes do not meet the pre and post op requirements set forward in the naval aviation guide. I thought that since I had LASEK in the past that I would need a waiver but that ended up not being the case.

Definitely this! I sat down with my optometrist to discuss my pre op and post op measurements and one simple waiver and I was good to to

I am. If you get NAMI Whammied in OCS what happens next? Out of the Navy or redesignated? I imagine if it happened at P’cola you just get redesignated since you are through OCS and all that

You have the option to get out no strings attached all the way up until you get pinned. They’ll probably offer you SWO if you stay in, so you just have to decide whether that’s worth it to you ?‍♂️
