I don't get it. In one part of this thread you lambaste how the Navy/Marine Corps doesn't accept people who have poor paper trails, or who don't give people second (or third) chances after they screw up. You speak of how much better the civilian world does it.


Then you say that 50% of the civilian world legal professionals are coke heads.

If 50% of the civilian world doesn't hold people accountable and allows leadership to promote folks like that then I'll take the military system.

I simply shared my experiences in the corporate world and my experiences alone.

Then @wink and @Spekkio come along telling me my experiences couldn’t possibly be true and sharing googled research (lol).

I don’t understand why they don’t want to believe or what they have to gain by calling me a troll or a wannabe (lol again).

I am still waiting for their actual responses but @wink in true boomer way just changes the narrative everytime and refuses to answer or acknowledge why he is so upset and vested in my experiences. Then tells me “wHaT aRE u DoInG HeRe as a non aviator”

did I say all lawyers are drug addicts? No.
Did I say half of all lawyers do drugs? Again, no.
did I say that all corporate lawyers do drugs? Nope.

I simply said that half the lawyers I know from my job in the corporate world are Coke fiends and get paid big money 600k plus a year plus stock options. They are in their mid thirties.

Even if I was generous, your assertions are in one field in one small part of the country and likely a small homogeneous sample. How long have you observed this behavior and more important how can you be so sure? Just how many lawyers in IP do you work with? You aren't in the legal department so I suspect you have peripheral interactions. I still call BS.

Actually, what he claims IS as rare as a unicorn. Which is fine if your audience is 5 year old girls. I'll buy exaggeration to make a point. His claim is just not believable. And that goes to his credibility in other matters on AW. About the only segment of society where you will find that level of drug and alcohol abuse is in prison. And I know a little about that too.
